I hate leaving negative reviews but if the prices on the menu don’t match what I’m charged then the menu prices need to be updated. Sorry, but I am leaving a 1 star review for being charged incorrectly.
The menu says $2.50/slice so I ordered the 2 slices he recommended. Total was $10.98. I pointed to the price on the menu that is attached to the counter right in front of me and the guy said “I need to scratch out those prices. Pizza is now $3 per slice plus 50 cents per topping.” So I was expecting to pay $5 and it cost $11. So disappointing because I love this pizza.
The pizza is delicious and I highly recommend it.
Floppy crust, foldable pizza slices in true New York style. $6 got me 2 slices of cheese and a soda.

Rays pizza is some of the best in Phoenix every weekend we get one and then sit around and talk about how great it is from the toppings to the sauce this is a pizza everyone should try.

Outstanding pizza. Terrible service. Did not acknowledge my presence today so I had to go somewhere else. People that are angry and bothered by customers should not have any.

We heard the pizza was great so we drove 25 minutes and passed probably 40 pizza places on the way. We walked in and we’re uncertain if we were to order at the counter or have a seat as there were no signs. (There are no menu’s behind the counter or paper menus on the counter.) So we sat at the closest booth and patiently waited for some form of acknowledgement of our presence. We were looked at by two different employees several times yet know one spoke to us. Keep in mind there was only one other table that ordered Togo. After about 10 minutes of being ignored, we walked out. I’m still very confused about the whole thing. I feel sorry for the management because of the incompetence and rudeness of their employees, they lost what could have been a 5 star review and life long customers. Very disappointed by the waste in gas.

Best slice of pizza around if you’re looking for true NY/NJ style and taste. Plus they have Sicilian slices (the square ones)! A+++++

Look at the photo I attached with this review. I ordered a medium veggie pizza.
To the manager/owner: Whoever made my pizza on Monday April 18 @ 8:30pm put an EXTREME amount of toppings on the pizza. Look at the plate in the photo. I took my hands and picked up all those veggies from the pizza and put it on a plate to show you. Why on earth would he/she put THAT much toppings on a medium pizza??? It's enough for an extra large! I spent $30 on a pizza I can't even eat. It's soggy and ruined. I work hard for my money and can't tell you how disappointed I am.
I read your replies that you said to other disappointed customers:
"I hope you give us another chance"
"I hope you come back soon"
"We’re working on making improvements, so this won't happen again".
It's been a year of "working on improvements" according to the timeline of these bad reviews. I wish you would offer a refund and/or say that you will talk to the cook who is responsible for poor quality food. I don't see you saying any of that.
To save you some time, I won't "be back soon" or "give you another chance."

This is the second time I've ordered Famous Ray's. I wasn't super impressed the first time but decided to give them another chance. I ordered a cheese sicilian for pick up... pretty hard to get wrong right? I was initially given a pickup time of 10:42-10:47 pm. I didn't see that i got a second text saying the pickup time changed to 10:53-11:08 simply because I didn't check my phone but that's not the issue. I showed up around 10:50 and understandably they appeared to be very busy (it was a Saturday night) and everything seemed very rushed. They told me it would be 5 min and announced my order being ready about 10 min later. When I got home I discovered that aside from the crust the pizza was very undercooked to the point that it was inedible. The dough was completely raw. On top of that they failed to cut the pizza. There were a few slices on the sides that were actually cut but the rest of the pizza was one giant slice. My friend and I shared a few bites and the rest unfortunately went in the trash. I understand businesses being busy and understaffed but I would have waited longer if it meant having a fully cooked and cut pizza.

Just got Rays for dinner tonight. Got the special which is 17" cheese pizza and 24 wings for $38 or so. $3 per topping add on - pretty steep. Even for fresh. But i didn't get fresh, i got canned mushrooms on my pizza. I chose to support a small business instead of a big chain, and they spit in my face with canned mushrooms. Even dominos has fresh mushrooms. Then my wings. I requested extra crispy, and extra sloppy (extra sauce) and I got dry and soggy. Why do I specify if I am just going to get disappointed? $45 in pizza and the quality was not on par. If this was a $20 combo then yes I would understand. The crust is nice though.

The thing that matters most is the pizza is fire. Got the veggie lovers and it really surprised me. That fried-like eggplant they top it with is probably the best way I’ve ever put eggplant into my body. The broccoli was just Ight, maybe if they used smaller pieces would have gone better.
As far as the restaurant front goes it’s got a hole in the wall feel inside. Also feels like there’s holes in the Walls because as someone mentioned it’s a little stuffy inside. Not a fine dining type of atmosphere. It’s like a greasy New York pizza shop, but that’s where you go to get the best pizza. Take out or eat in, you can’t go wrong if you don’t have a fork yo your rear.
