This place is a joke! Not real bbq meat. It is steamed meat mixed with BBQ sauce. Small portions. Potato salad was disgusting. Expensive and service is below poor. Employees were checked out. Say bye to $15 if you decide to eat here. Better options are smashburger or panda express.
Fun place to go in downtown Gilbert. Best BBQ in Gilbert. Lots of sides. Fun atmosphere. Joe Johnston owns three restaurants that have been featured on Dives and Diners. The other is kitty-corner called Liberty Market which is a nice play on Americana food. He treats employees like family and you can tell.

$16 a drink get stuffed. Eating here ruined my Birthday. Overpriced, the chips that came with my sandwich were basically deep fried cardboard. Literally no flavor. Shame on the bartender and all the other staff for working at such a rip off of a place #milehighwayrobbery....

Prices are about twice the price as the original Joes Bbq prices. S L O W Service and employees who seem to not care if you order or not. 14 bucks for a salad with side of meat. The smoked meat was great but thats it. Many other restaurants in the food court with better service.

I fly for a living. My nose can usually sniff out good BBQ, but this was the exception. This is by far the worst BBQ I have ever had. The service was actually pleasant, prompt and the portions were decent. It’s simply the quality of the food that is terribly dissatisfying. Dry, Luke warm, flavorless, and extra fatty.

IDK where the negative reviews are coming from, but my guy and I had a very pleasant experience. He was in the mood for BBQ and Joe's Real BBQ delivered. We purchased two samplers and they were awesome. Meat fell right off the bones. The employees were extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. Whenever I travel through PHX, I won't hesitate to stop by. It was an older gentleman and young lady who assisted us and they were phenomenal.

This is probably the worst restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. You can’t expect excellent service from an airport restaurant, but this place puts them on the top as the worst service. When I was in line to get food, the young gentleman in front of me said “It’s my first time here what’s good? The server said the menu is behind me” after she took his order I was waiting for her to acknowledge my presence and she said nothing for at 3 minutes and continue unwrapping the food and talking to her co-worker. At this time they already lost two possible customers because the service was slow.
I finally said to her, “hey, there may I place my order?” And she looked at me as if I was bothering her because she was busy talking to her co-workers and said: “what do you want?” I almost left, but I wanted to try this place. I’m flabbergasted how rude she was. When I paid another person assisted me, and I asked if this place was a local restaurant or a national franchise, she said to me “I don’t know I just work here, but there is one in the town outside of the airport.” By this time they have lost a total of 7 customers because I was watching people leave since no one acknowledges their presence. Btw, during this time the food court was not busy. You expect fast, accurate service when you are at the airport because time is of the essence.
The food was dry, and I had the sampler platter, which includes sliced chicken breast, pulled pork, and ribs with two sides. The food was not displayed, but it didn’t come hot just warm, which I think the chicken became dry. The pulled pork was so stringy and dry and so as the roast. The ribs were good, and the sauce is excellent. I took a picture of the box so everyone can see how they presented their food.

So bad. Such an audacious name for a place that is on another planet (probably a defunct planet like Pluto #toosoon) compared to what would qualify as "real BBQ." Perhaps your thinking that I should give them a break because it's just airport food after all. Well, I've been to the original location too and the turkey is just as bland and the brisket just as fat-tastic and gristley. There are a few other options in the terminal that could meet your needs without grossing you out.

Bad bbq. brisket was fatty and chewy. Turkey and sauce were decent. Bread was cold.

The before security Joe's does not compare to the original Joe's on Gilbert road. If you are going to expand your business and lure your long time customers in, the service and food should be just like the original. The pulled pork today was fatty and swimming in grease. The employee preparing food probably shouldn't confirm that she's high when we were thinking she possibly could be as she took our order. Arrival service was slow with three people behind the counter and no one in front of us in line. Staff was friendly, but not the service or food quality I expect from Joe's BBQ.
