Went here with the friends and the atmosphere is great! Service is incredible!!! Food is not it at all... I got the dirty rice balls, they were bland and lacking flavor. I got the Gumbo and it was more like beef stew with rice in it. Last I got the chicken, it looked amazing and I was ready to dive in, and was disappointed as well, the sides were on point but the chicken was not. Plating, presentation and service is A+, taste of the food is not.

Very prompt and courteous.
The food was incredible, the flavors well blended and balanced.

Excellent food and atmosphere! Staff was very friendly and attentive despite the restaurant being almost completely full. Shrimp and grits were very tasty, and although the portion size could probably be a bit bigger for this particular dish, I would still highly recommend it, because the grits were seasoned just right, and the shrimp was cooked to tender perfection. Fried chicken was top notch: perfectly breaded and extremely juicy, definitely a crowd pleaser. The gumbo was good but a bit one-dimensional (would be nice to see a bit more variety in ingredients for this dish). Overall, discovering this restaurant was a great experience and I will definitely come back to try their other dishes. (Side note: it also seems like a classy place for celebrations and other special occasions. The ambiance, decor, and drink selection are awesome, and several tables nearby were there for birthdays. Everyone seemed to be having a great time!)

I've eaten here once before , and returned to introduce this wonderful food to another person. The service was slow, but efficient. The patio was actually full where the inside was sparsely populated, which added to the service time. The waiter was knowledgeable and patient, and kept the flow of things, easy. I had the fried chicken, which is their sig.ature dish, and it didn't disappoint! The chicken has that "crunch" while remaining juicy. The sides were perfect (mashed potatoes and "broccolini" - don't know what that is, but it tasted good lol), and the ambience was chill

Amazing experience and gastronomic intelligence of Chef Beckett. This completely surprises me that this restaurant does not have a james beard award, I'd even say with the presentation of the culinary expertise they serve, that Southern Rail Restaurant should be a 1 Michelin star....easy ... amazing staff. Eye opening wine and whiskey list. True gem ???? ???? ????

Overall nice experience. The service was awesome. Very attentive. The food was tasty as well. The Dirty Rice balls were a great app. The chicken was fresh and crispy. Large servings are also a plus! They were out of the greens, so I'm looking forward to trying them on my next visit.

Good. Fun atmosphere, decent drinks and v tasty / authentic fried chicken. We also got the shrimp and grits which were good. Nothing else on the menu really jumped out so dunno if we will go back to try anything else.

The food was delish. Everything we had tasted fantastic I was too full to eat dessert but all the desserts sounded great. Had the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese. The tomatoes were firm not mushy, the breading crisp and not greasy. A good amount of breading to tomato ratio... And that pimento cheese with the tomatoes... Ruined me. I'll never want a fried green tomato without it ever again! Ok .... Next salad. It had a wonderful unique blend of tasty ingredients. I know salad... But yum. Bacon, hard boiled eggs, what I think was freezed dried corn (you'll have to read the menu, I'm going by memory here), pickled green beans, smoked shredded chicken... Yes I'm describing it the best I can and I know I'm not doing it justice. It was so good. The flavors and textures complex and I had to force myself to stop eating, knowing my entree was coming. We shared both the appetizer and salad. Plenty big enough for two. I ordered the fried chicken, came with mashed potatoes and greens. The greens were vinegary and tart and perfect with the slightly chunky perfectly seasoned potatoes. I'd gather a piece of chicken with a bit of potatoes and greens for a perfect bite, of crunchy, savory and tart. The chicken had a good amount of crispy tastes breading and was super tender and moist inside. I don't know how it could have been better. Husband got the gumbo. And loved it. I'd have zero hesitation to go again or to recommend to anyone wanting to go try something new. The decor was rustic, industrial, western and a cool vibe. Service was great. I didn't have a cocktail or dessert, so I can't speak to those things and so I reserve that last star... For when I go back and have the complete review of all offerings. Service was spectacular. Never waited for anything, polite, friendly and helpful without being obtrusive or annoying... Which is the sweet spot of feeling like you have what you need but aren't being stalked.

Banquet room was perfect for our private event. Our waiter Chris was patient and efficient. He executed his job very well. Now on to the food...portions were more than enough! Plated very well and pleased all the high end palates. Will definitely be back here! Eager to check out the book store next door on my next visit.

I had been meaning to try this place for a long time. I however don't eat dinner very often, and since they only open at dinner time, trying it had proven challenging. My food partner was also itching for a new food adventure, and I must say this hit the spot. He had the ribs, and wow... I must say was very impressed. I had the soup tomato roasted pepper if I recall correctly, what a delight, as well as the summer garden veggie noble toast... As I mentioned before I don't eat dinner so this were both light options but very filling.
For the appetizer, we had the dirty rice balls, there is no photo of this, because they were so good, they simply disappeared very quickly. And lastly if you are the mood for a sweet cocktail... 10/10 recommend the monsoon, fantastic flavor.
