First off, the people were wonderful. This review is nothing against the very friendly and kind people who run this place. Even though service and staff were great, we come for the food and the food was just not great. I paid $30 for a two meat combo, which was meant to come with your choice of sides and meats. I chose pulled pork and brisket. I was not given a choice for the sides and received instead beans and cabbage. The "brisket" was ribs. I have had pork brisket before and this was absolutely not brisket, it was ribs. Cabbage was flavorless, after salting it generously I could eat it and beans were just plain old pinto beans. Okay. The meats were dry and cold. I had to coat everything in BBQ sauce though. You can honestly get better BBQ at a fast food restaurant sadly. I was so excited to try this place as I've lived in the neighborhood my whole life and love BBQ. Additionally, after I ordered and began eating, service was suddenly not as great. I went back up to the counter to purchase another drink as they sell them by the can, and had to wait about five minutes for them to ring me up. I'll be the first to rave to everyone I know if the food is good, but equally if it's bad. So be warned. Maybe I came on an off day, maybe but for $30 I won't risk it again. I'll head to Rudy's where I know I'll get both the service and excellent food.
The pulled pork was dry and on a hot dog bun. The potaytoa salad was awful. Don't go by what they have on menu online because they don't have thing in house as listed. The apple pie was not cooked and the crust was too thick. This is off our list.

Fried cabbage tasted like fresh cabbage and nothing else. Greens tasted like they came out of a can and never met an herb or seasoning. Potato salad was watery but saved the plates. Oh, the rib tips… you know how you add water to the bottle of BBQ sauce to get last out, yea that what was on the rib tips.

Not worth the money. Spent 48 dollars on a half pound of brisket, half pound of pulled pork, potato salad, Mac & cheese, & 2 Corn breads. Corn bread was burnt, dry, and cold straight from a refrigerator. The brisket was almost inedible due to it being almost all fat and hardly any edible meat. The Mac and cheese was average, and potato salad was average. Not worth the money spent. Will not be returning. Do not recommend this place. Prices are not justified for the quality of food being served.

Love this place. Ladies are very nice and friendly. Macaroni is one of the best I’ve had. Had a taste of one of their smoothies and delicious.

I got the brisket dinner and chose to keep the potato salad and sub the beans for green beans. The potato salad is mediocre, the green beans were cooked too long so no firmness, and the brisket that was my biggest disappointment. It was 3/4 fat and I'm a person that doesn't eat fat so I was only able to get a small piece of meat. I had gotten both bar b que sauces the mild was good, but the spicy one tasted like hot sauce and vinegar. I gave it a try and I really wanted to like the food, but yet again I was let down and for a little over $16 I'm not happy. I'm from the south and this was not a good representation. They had Shasta which I love, and at least the pecan pie was decent.

Ran into Wayne, the owner and Chef, this weekend in Williams, AZ. Offered us sample taste of ribs and chicken. AWESOME! His meats were smoked perfectly and his sauce is one of the best we've ever had. We will go by his place in Glendale this winter.

Fresh Texas BBQ everyday! Mouth watering ribs, chicken etc... Homemade desserts too. It's a cozy little place and pretty friendly. The owner helped me celebrate my son's birthday & was really a genuinely good guy. I told him we wanted to have a good family dinner to share when my son arrived and he recommended the full rack and 3 side option and It DID NOT disappoint! Delicious and there were left overs. Ribs, mac n cheese, collars greens, green beans... Chocolate cake and fresh peach ice cream for the birthday boy!
