Love the taste and atmosphere of the location the chicken is tender and lightly breaded and there sides from there fries biscuits and mac n cheese is very well made overall this restaurant is very much worth the visit if your looking for delicious fried chicken and waffles especially the coffee and pies
Moved away from the area over 40 years ago. Read about the 55 year anniversary and decided to introduce my wife to one of my fond childhood memories. Was not disappointed. Brought back a flood of positive recollections. Food still as good as I remembered. Waitstaff was cheerful, efficient and pleasant. Well worth the short drive. Made for a very nostalgic Sunday afternoon.

The place was cute and it reminded me of being in somebody's home, however the food wasn't all that great. The waffle was good but the chicken lacked flavor. Their pineapple iced tea was amazing!!

Dinah's Chicken is an old school place near the southern end of Glendale. They have a fun slogan on their menu stating that if their founder had been in the navy they would have been an admiral.
The chicken was fantastic. I am a big believer in as fresh from the kitchen as I can get it and this absolutely applies to Dinah's. The chicken was some of the freshest fried chicken I've ever had and it really helps elevate the dining experience.
The pineapple slaw was tasty and had a nice but subtle sweet flavor. The mac and cheese was good. I saw many diners order the waffles and I think I might have missed out. A return trip to try the chicken and waffle seems very likely.
I was craving fried chicken when I went and they really delivered.

We got this for takeout when we went to paperback brewing a block up the way. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, even with takeout the skin and breading was still crispy. We got the 5 piece with sides of fries and mac & cheese with 2 biscuits. Chicken was a tad salty but the seasoning was good otherwise, the fries were pretty lackluster, unseasoned and limp. I would saw the biscuits weren't truly biscuits but more rolls, they didn't flake apart like a biscuit does but you could tell they used a lot of butter, its like a biscuit and a roll had a baby, good but not a biscuit. Overall very delicious and would stop by again to try more chicken and other sides!

Had such a great time at this location. The service was great, fried chicken totally fresh, moist and very good. Pineapple coleslaw definitely a must have for sure. Pie for desert…cherry, apple and lemon meringue were our choices to go and we found them to be very flavorful, great taste and melt in your mouth crust. Will certainly be back for the other menu favorites…waffles, corn on the cob, biscuits. Definitely a winner Dinah’s Chicken…I see you????

This might be my favorite fried chicken of all time. But can we also talk about the pies? Tried the coconut cream and the pecan and both were delicious. Never would’ve thought a fried chicken shop would have such fantastic pies! Dinah’s is where I’m placing my pie orders from now on!

Dinah's Chicken is always one of the BEST! Their crust is always just crispy enough but not too crispy, always tastes like a homemade batch of Southern fried chicken. In the past I've been quite pleased with everything at Dinah's particularly they're nice fluffy tea biscuits with your choice of butter or apple butter. Although this time around their corn on the cob left something to be desired and the dressing was dry. Service was pretty good though.

Nothing like I expected! Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to fried chicken. I swear they must pressure cook their chicken because the chicken is cooked to perfection, especially the coating they use for their chicken. It's light and crispy. I say it's cooked to perfection because the meat just fell off from the bone. When you cook fried chicken, there are different degrees when preparing chicken. They nailed it. Cooked to perfection. I can't explain it. Super tender and JUICY. You know when chicken is cooked well done because it will be dry. With Dinah's Chicken, it's soft and falls off the bone. NOT DRY. IT'S DELICIOUS. The breading isn't thick and it's just right and not so greasy!
Our friends told us that there were all kinds of sides that we missed out on like, cornbread and macaroni and cheese because we got the coleslaw and macaroni salad. WTH. The coleslaw is lightly sweet and has pineapple. Somehow it tastes like Hawaiian macaroni salad but instead, it's coleslaw made into heaven?!!! Next time, I'm buying two of the large sides of the pineapple coleslaw! Their macaroni salad is on point, too. The macaroni pasta was cooked al dente and once you have a bite of the salad, it takes you back to some good days at a July 4th cookout with your friends. Everything was so delicous! It came with dinner rolls and honey, too. The rolls were extremely soft - not a day old. Yum. We will definitely be back to try the other sides like the cornbread, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob and stuffing!!!

We went to Dinahs Chicken on San Fernando. I do make my own mashed potatoes at home but we got the corn and coleslaw and chicken. It is not spicy which is great for me and the breading is thin not crunchy like KFC. I am happy to see they expanded into Pasadena at the United Kitchens on Madison Ave. I give them a thumbs up for nothing fancy food and prices are always reasonable. They have outdoor seating and the location was clean.
I have been coming here for years. I would love to see them maybe change a couple things. Revamp the mashed potatoes recipe, maybe add some sparkle to their corn on the cob. I personally bake pies and would not buy the one they have.
Their coleslaw and chicken are hands down winners for this restaurant.
