Easily one of the best burgers in Los Angeles. I would say the top list for me is Amboy, Monty‘s, Hi-Ho, and Goldburger (in no particular order). Amboy has high-quality meat and very thick burgers. Very different than Monty‘s for obvious reasons and also different from Goldburger in that these are not smash burgers. The burgers are well seasoned and there is also a meat market inside the restaurant. They sell steaks and drinks, as well as burgers to go or to have on the patio.
It is inside a two-story open air shopping mall on the bottom floor. There is a large parking lot next to it, although every time I go I’m able to find street parking. This is a Filipino owned burger joint in Chinatown so for those facts alone it is very unique, but at the same time it is honestly delicious. I would recommend to any fan of burgers or anyone who loves to try new places.
Until yesterday, I wasn’t able to find a burger In LA that can beat Au Cheval and Small Cheval in Chicago. We have a little Chicago/LA rivalry in my circle so finding this spot put an end to that argument. I finally found the burgers that can match the quality and beat Chicagos prices! Classic LA style. Good food at affordable prices. I tried the DH, double classic and the Royale. Of the 3, the DH and the double classic were by far the best burgers. The Royale was good but doesn’t fit into the same category as the other two and can’t compare to Au Cheval or small Cheval in Chicago so I had to disqualify it from my contest. The service was friendly and the prices were good for the quality! Not at all “too salty” and the meat is perfectly moist. Lasita next door sells natural wine. 5/5 would recommend this spot and I hands down have found a burger better than Small Cheval and Au Cheval in Chicago. The photos are posted with no filters. Last recommendation, be ready to wait up to 30 minutes for your burger. This place is popular.

One of the best hamburgers I have had! If you want a burger near Chinatown, this is a must try. They ground their own beef, they have the meat on display. It was juicy flavorful and with the bread they use it does not go soggy at all.

Best burgers I have ever tasted! We tried the picante and DH and loved both. Be prepared to pay for parking. I couldn’t find a free spot, but that won’t be stopping me from returning. They have a small selection of meats too that looked great.

Off the beaten path but well worth finding! Hold in the wall gem. Quick friendly service, awesome recommendations. Loaded fries were worth the upgrade. If you're in the mood for a burger you must check this place out.

Amboy is part burger shop and part butcher shop. The burger patties are freshly ground and the quality truly shines through.

This Chinatown gem is officially my favorite burger spot in town ????. The smash burger was insanely good with the sesame bun and the premium ground beef mix.
????Ordered:
1. Classic Double: 20/10!! The 2 smashed patties (made of ground short rib, rib eye, and brisket) was excellent ???? If BNSD is elevated McDonald’s then this is high end in n out ????
2. Carne asada fries: 20/10!!! The fries at Amboy are insanely good.. was not expecting it tbh but I could eat this entire meal by myself !! The carne asada meat was also really high quality as this shop specializes in meat.
Drooling from looking at these pictures, can’t wait to visit this iconic Chinatown burger joint again.

One of the best burgers in LA. Burgers are thick and juicy. Simple burgers, no crazy toppings. Fries are ok. The hotdog was good too. Not much seating though. There's street meter parking and pay lots nearby.

By far one of the best burgers I've ever had. I got the dry aged burger cooked perfectly to medium rare. The dry aged meat was so nutty and delicious. And the fries were amazing especially with the garlic aioli.

One small meat counter and one booth. You might walk right passed it if you’re not paying attention, distracted by the crowds waiting for howlin rays. You’re not here for the ambiance. I had the DH which is a dry aged burger with garlic confit mayo. It was a finely crafted orchestra of flavor in my mouth. The meat itself was so flavorful. I know smash burgers seems to be all the rage right now but this is not that. This was a fat patty and perfectly cooked. Admittedly, I haven’t hit up all the hot burger spots but I’ve yet to encounter a better burger in LA. $15 for a burger will be a turn off to many, I’m sure, but do yourself a favor and splurge.

One of the Best burgers on the West coast.
Not only is the quality of the meat above and beyond anything expected from a burger, it was also cooked perfectly and all of the ingredients paired nicely to emphasize the meat.
An experience truely worth having for any gourmet burger fans. Will recommend and also be back for more.
