The smash burgers here are pretty good. Tried both the regular and Oklahoma onion style one on Kings Hawaiian buns with an order of fries. It’s just a little pricey though, $19 bucks for a double burger and a order of fries, which are barely big enough to share for the two of us.
Burger Oklahoma style was great. Meat was delicious as was everything on it. I kinda wish the bun was a little bigger but still a great burger. Fries were nice and crispy. Only thing I think is whack is chili peppers or sauce are $1 extra for a tiny container, when paying $20 for a burger + fries.

Excellent burgers, we went in not expecting much because of the small place, but we were shocked on how good the burgers were, and the futile is excellent as well.
I suggest ordering double because the burgers become so flat after smashing them down.
And be ready to get messy, because there is way more meat that bread.

Crispy to perfection! One of the best smash burger joints in LA. Onions and cheese blends well with the pattie, Hawaiian sweet buns completed the experience. We’ll be back for more!

Got the Oklahoma double burger with NO (!!!) cheese $14 + hand-cut fries $5 and ate it ON-SITE, right away.
Overall grade B-: No issue w/ the burger meat or the onions, those were tasty.
But the burger bun itself is the size of a slider. Which makes the burger patties themselves seem huge and overflowing but the whole thing is super-super-hard and messy to hold and eat. You’re basically grabbing the meat with your fingers especially that the lower bun disintegrates from the juices.
Also the bun is SWEET! As in Kings Hawaiian bread sweet. Because it actually is. There was another sweet touch I detected, perhaps a tiny amount of relish? I just don’t want anything sweet in my burgers. Ever.
The fries were good and golden brown but limp and lukewarm, not hot. I don’t understand why because I saw them frying a new batch while I was waiting but maybe they combined it with one that was sitting around? Not sure.
I wish BSW would offer a decent non-sweet, bigger bun. Until then, this place won’t be on my regular rotation.
PS Thank God that I remembered to ask for no cheese. When I order something listed as a “burger” or “hamburger” on a menu, no, I don’t expect a “cheeseburger” and it’s a huge peeve of mine when restaurants don’t bother taking 2 seconds to ask the simple question, “with cheese or without?”. So many of my burgers get ruined because of that.. and get returned.

Double Oklahoma Smashburger - wagyu beef, American cheese, pickles, onion, ketchup, mustard, mayo / 5 ????!
Crispy French fries / 5 ????!
Burger She Wrote is newer on the LA burger map but they are clearly here to serve up some awesome burgers and are quickly making a name for themselves.
The burger was excellent. Very tasty char and smashed to a crisp. I had it with the grilled onions. I love that a lot of spots are serving it with pickles and the backyard bbq condiments.
The fries were thin cut and quite crispy. I love all fries and crispy is always appreciated.
Excellent spot! Easy parking. Quick service. Pleasant experience all around. Highly recommend.

The smash burgers here are insaneeee!!! I usually don’t feel that full from a double patty because smashed patties are on the lighter side but this is a decadent and hefty burger!

I got “The Oklahoma” which is the same thing as the other smashed burger but with grilled onions.
The meat is perfectly crisp on the edges and the burger was so juicy and flavorful. The sauce is also amazing and really pulled the entire burger together. This may be my new favorite smashed burger in the city..
The fries are also really good in my opinion because I love soggy fries????

This place is unbelievably AMAZING. The restaurant is super cool and the workers are very patient and nice. The burgers and fries are delicious and the way that the sophisticated meat goes with the cheese, bread, sauce, and the touch of onion is incredible.

We’ve been on the hunt for the best smash burger in town, and with Burger She Wrote, we have finally found it! Hands down the best burger around. From the yummy bun to the crispy edged burger and the melty cheese, it was SO delicious. It had the perfect amount of seasoning and was truly just a great burger. The fries were also equally tasty. We can’t wait to come back again and again!
