super restaurant!! Delicious food, good prices and friendly staff. The carne en su jugo is amazing, as are the tacos de barbacoa. I hope to come back in the future!
Service was excellent. The food was delicious. Street parking. Drinks come in clay cups which is nice. I found the aqua frescas to be gross. However, I only had the strawberry one and it tasted way too artificial. Reminded us of strawberry nestle quick. You know that pink powder? The verde chilaquiles was proper. I got it with steak and scrambled eggs. That green bean soup (I don’t recall the name) was pretty good. The bowl looked shallow but it was hearty. Very meaty too. There green and red salsa were good. The orange one was straight up habanero. Chip refill is $1.49. Hours are a bit tricky but I will be back with a beer or two to order every taco on the menu.

Fronts a busy street and lacks windows making this place noisy. Decor is minimal, not much on their menu, most of it is variations on bean soup. Tried it, will not be back.

This place is lovely and has such cute decor.
The good: the carne en su jugo was tasty, it was savory but not overly salty. The meat was very tender and had very little to no fat which I like. The bits of bacon it had were quite thick and also didn't have a ton of fat. The plate comes with beans, but I had them out the beans on the side and ordered a side of rice. The beans were tender and well cooked, but nothing special. The rice was also well cooked, fluffy and we decently flavored. My friend ordered the barbacoa quesadillas, these were delicious! The barbacoa quesadillas were very flavorful and tender. They used corn tortillas and applied a very generous amount of cheese. These were probably my favorite from everything ordered. Their salsas and chips were ok, nothing spectacular but ok.
The bad: there is no parking lot, but there seems to be plenty of parking on the street, although some are metered. The restaurant is all outdoor so going during the middle of summer or when it is raining out might not be ideal. Lastly, the guacamole had almost no avocado, it was mostly onion, tomato, and cilantro. Although the flavor was good, the fact it had almost no avocado is definitely a fail for me and the reason why I'm only giving them 3 stars. I also tried their strawberry horchata and was not very impressed. Although they mentioned it was freshly made there, the strawberry flavor tasted artificial. It almost tasted like what was used was strawberry flavired powder and I also didn't taste any cinnamon, which I am used to when it comes to horchata but that's just a personal thing I enjoy and know that not everyone does.
Overall, the restaurant is just ok. The service is splendid, very friendly staff. Unfortunately, I cannot give them more than 3 stars based on the underwhelming guacamole, just average salsas, and lack of indoor space that is accessible for those who are differently abled.
Would return for the barbacoa quesadillas, but everything else I'm not sure I would order again.

Seen this place on utube and been wanting to try it. I finally got to visit on our way to Santa Monica and it was well worth the drive. The Carne en su jugo is outstanding. The Birria tacos are out standing.

I had heard the claims of them having the BEST carne en su jugo in Los Angeles....and I can now say that I believe that they do. It was so delicious. I'm not sure that I'll be able to order it in any other restaurant from now on.

Had a wonderful time here. The food was very down to earth and gave us a feeling of home cooking, DELICIOUS home cooking!

The food was really good, loved the tacos. So reasonably priced, hope they dont sell out and start a chic resturant in Hollywood...i.e. Bludsoe's BBQ.

I came here because of the Google reviews. Overall, this place is overhyped. It suffers from aesthetically pleasing food that looks good but tastes average except for the barbacoa tacos. They were amazing, spicy and tasty!
The place is nice and is an enclosed outdoor setting. The decorations were nice as well. The service was also slow because they only had one server and she was really nice.

???????? JALISCO MÉXICO (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - Sometime during your first visit to the original Carnes Asadas Pancho Lopez, maybe around the time your agua fresca arrives at the table before a meal, you start to appreciate the surroundings enough to know that it will be your goal to become a regular here. The covered patio, corrugated metals, decoration and atmosphere are about as transportive and comfortable as possible, a direct flight to a sunny Guadalajara day via a short trip to Lincoln Heights.
