This place accepts single diners, and has a grill on every table. There are 3 tiers of food which you opt for at the beginning; I chose the one with Bulgogi and Spicy Pork. Taking my meat to the grill , I them loaded a plate with the kimchi and other sides; yes ... lettuce wrap was among them! The server brought me a plate of black noodles and a bowl of spicy Korean Soup.
The sides were displayed in a stainless steel salad bar table, with fresh ingredients. Soup and the noodles were tasty, and a good compliment to my meal. The Bulgogi and Spicy Pork were quite tasty and though there were 1 other chicken selection, I just refilled on the beef and pork. (And once more of the pork.)
I really enjoyed the food and environment, but especially like the kimchi. I asked if they use the fish sauce or miso paste ... he actually took me into the kitchen and showed me the "secret."
Everything was just right on this day, so they got the stars in my review.
food wasn't fresh as it should for Saturday dinner. looked more like left overs. More side dishes than actual meat selections. bathroom and grill table old, not appetizing.

Been going here for over 2 decades. The quality is amazing. The service is impeccable. The selection is outstanding. And the taste is authentically Korean.

This is retro look bbq restaurant and pretty good meat quality and you could bring your own stuff. You might feel weird if you are young generation but old ppl would feel home in Korea that makes this place so special. Especially LA galbi, sweet rice drink called sichae, intestine, beef tung and so one so so good!
Try out you will not regret it ❤️????????????????

I've been to better ones outside of L.A but having to be in L.A for the weekend, my friends and I thought we try out Choeng Wun Korean BBQ. Meat is decent, Korean lady seemed nice at first then seemed a little irritated when we asked for more water. We ate, I paid and left a little tip... the lady looked at the receipt and said, "oh, you have choose one of those tips (points to 15%, 18%, or 20% tip). I was dumbfounded! ???? I only tipped $5 cause it was self-serve buffet. Anyway, we're not going here again. I know L.A enough to know that protection fee or not in L.A, that's jacked up!! I hope they post up a sign on their door about tipping!! This is the original tip before changing it to 15% ($12.14).... this wasn't enough.tsk

Been coming to this place for over 15 years. The meats are prime and the service is amazing. Don't be shy if you don't know how to prepare items, the owners are more than willing to help. They will give you all the help you need. The good is well worth the price. As someone who always gets their money's worth, do not fill up on fried food or rice, wait for the meat. There's no time limit so take your time, enjoy the experience cooking, talking, and eating. Nothing better than that. When you come down take a look at the price breakdown and choose what you want. They also have imported beer. Enjoy!!!

You see who comes here then you know it's a great place. Lots of older age folks, but not complaining. Restaurant is outdated, seating can hurt your knees if you are even average height. Overall delicious food options. Missing shrimp. Love the soups and pumpkin porridge. "Limited menu " = not eating short ribs.
