Busy busy busy friday night. Got sat immediately with no reservations. Wait staff super quick. Got our apps, drinks, main course so quick! Honestly a mind blowing restaurant experience. Food was amazing and is a Downtown LA must do!
First time coming in and I love it. Great customer service and friendly staff. The food was delicious and the margaritas! love it. They know how to make a margarita. I will certainly come next time here again

i got the taste of history dish and it was massive, but perfect shared between two people. Tasted great, and the pina colada was good too

The food and service here were amazing. We came here after all other places were only accepting reservations, but I'm so glad we came here. The food was phenomenal and the service was top notch. Water was filled right away every time, and our waitress was super friendly. The simmered chicken was so flavorful and delicious. We had the appetizer sampler that feeds 4. We couldn't finish between 3 of us. The salsas that came with the complimentary chips were refreshing and had a decent variety in taste, texture and heat. Their tortilla soup was also really tasty. I can't wait to go back to try more.

went here last night before the kacey musgraves concert and they were playing kacey all night !! the food was amazing and our server was super nicer and attentive despite the restaurant being extremely busy. i got the chimichanga appetizer as a meal and it was amazing. i loved that on the menu it showed the year they started serving the dish. amazing food and really nice atmosphere

It was good. Food was warm, delicious, and filling. I had their original enchilada plate. Was full of sauce, cheese, beans, and chicken. Plus, it had an egg and it was a perfect combination.. Our wait was longer than they told us and the buzzer did not buzz for us. Not until we went to ask did they sit us in. Lesson learned, don't wait outside, be close to the door because they were yelling out people's name. So, not sure why the buzzer was needed?
Anyway, also no tapatio! For a Mexican restaurant in the heart of LA it's unusual, but that's just me. I love tapatio. Was a busy night so we didn't have much of the waiter, but he did the best he could with all the tables he was serving.
Overall, good place, but over rated.

We went to the downtown location and I must say the setting was very pleasant not too bright or crowded for that matter. Food was delicious and waiter was very courteous as well. I got the Es un Milagro margarita and it came on a small tray with a candy next to it as part of their breast cancer donation charity...very thoughtful! Flan was delicious too ????

I've never heard of this restaurant & I ate here the 1st time in LA 3 weeks ago. Learned that it has been in LA for decades & some celebrities & pro athletes came here when I photos of them. Had the steak fajitas which is my favorite Mexican dish & a bit similar to Burnt Tortilla.

Seem like a nice place with a rich heritage and history in Downtown LA so hard to give them only 3 stars. Truth is food was marginal and Margaritas was large but lacking flavor. I have had soo many tastier Mexican dishes and drinks at far less attractive locations. But this place has character and history. Overall menu execution needs improvement.
