This is a fun and chill place to go out. I've gone twice and the most recent time was a few weeks ago, we went for their Funky Soul Night. There is an outdoor bar and indoor bar, the dance floor is inside. The outdoor bar is surrounded by the patio, which has booths and tables and cute lights. We paid $5 to get in for the Funky Soul, not sure if there's a cover on regular nights. The dress code is casual.

Attended Saturday night flamenco. Really enjoyed the dancing and the explanation of the dance. Great performance and overall ambience. Friendly staff at the restaurant. We parked on the street right in front. The seemed to be other street parking options, including several in front. We came at 6pm, and the show started around 7pm. Sitting near the front is better so you can have a clear view of the dancers. Food was good. $65 pre fixe per person with the show included. Steak, chicken, salmon, seafood paella, and vegetarian paella options. We used a Groupon.

I arrived at about 6:45p to see a show and the security guard/bouncer ( middle age pepper hair round man) was extremely rude. I happily walked up, ready to show my ticket and he told me that I couldn’t come in because the show started at 7:00pm, I literally said “okay! Great no problem! Can I wait out here?” And he said “I don’t know I don’t care!!” And rolled his eyes. I thought he was joking and then I clearly realized he wasn’t. I genuinely asked him if he was okay and then told me I couldn’t come into the show. I’m currently still waiting out here because I genuinely didn’t do anything wrong but as a hospitality specialist I would consider training your first impressions team to have a warm and welcoming spirit. He was clearly tired or frustrated or maybe he’s not being paid well but it doesn’t excuse his rudeness and entitlement.

Attended Hump Day Cabaret, funny up and coming comedians. Ate great paella. Street parking not too bad. No valet. Stairs down to restaurant could be challenging for some.

This is a diamond in the rough venue, from outside it just looks regular and to get in you have to go down numerous steps, but it is worth the trip. Inside the belly of the venue is truly amazing and has so much photo op potential. Its almost like a maze, it has so many aesthetic areas. The stage is pretty neat, with the dj space behind it. The audience room is square, so you can always see the stage, no matter where you are sitting or standing, that's another great feature it has tables, booths and chairs and standing room, which is great the stage is raised so you can always see the artist. It a gem of a place, for dining and live performances. Can't wait to go again.

What a unique hidden gem off of Sunset Blvd. on the elbow of a Hollywood and seemingly Los Feliz. My wife got us reservations and mentioned Flamenco as she put on dancing heels…so I wasn’t sure what we were in for. She always picks the good spots and this spot did not disappoint. Historic, cozy, and familiar, we dipped right into Spain as we descended the stairs and came into the El Cid dining hall. As we ordered salmon and steak, we could hear guitars and heels percussing behind a curtain from a stage in front. Fresh spicy mago margaritas came, the curtain opened, and the clacking of castanets rumbled with rhythmic guitara. We enjoyed an evening transportation to Spain, with flavor in our mouths and flare on the stage. Definitely an experience away in the heartbeat of L.A.

I love L shed! It has long been a hub of the creative community here in silverlake. They offer drag shows, comedy shows live bands and so much more! They have an outside patio that sits right on sunset boulevard in the heart of Los Angeles but I highly recommend going down the beautiful stairwell into the garden that makes El Cid famous for its 1970s style brunch. The alfresco dining is superbly as you're surrounded by gorgeous plants and cool statues from the 1950s. The food has something for everyone and it's a great place to go on a date, single, or with the group of friends you can't go wrong.
