The name of the restaurant is now “Popcorn Chicken” so I was “lost” and kept walking past the place and even left drove down the street before they finally answered and told me they are now Popcorn Chicken.
The owners and employees are very kind and the restaurant is clean with a good atmosphere. The popcorn chicken is good but a little salty, the hot pot was good but a little greasy. The picture had big clams in it and plenty of clams but when I got my hot pot it was only 2 baby clams in it at the very bottom. Not a lot of ramen and ramen slightly soggy, I don’t like that you can’t put your pot together and you can only choose pots that are already put together. I feel for how skimpy the pot was 20.00 is high and they didn’t honor their lunch prices so I paid dinner prices. The house milk tea is bland but drinkable, I’d say I enjoyed my experience and glad I tried it but I wouldn’t go back.

They always close the place earlier. At 9 pm the waitress didn't let us order, said they're closed already. Same thing happened 3 times this year.
Please be aware when you drive 30min to have dinner, most likely they will say they are closed already, doesn't matter when you show up. Also they charge more for the exact same dish if you come for dinner. Nothing is changing, just the time of the day.

They use dated vegetables. The tomato slice was totally bad. I can even accept if you don’t put it. But you did.
Not coming ever.
Replying the property:
- Did i communicate with the server?
- No. this is a hilarious feedback because there’s no server. Only one guy operating everything: chef receipt cashier. He’s too busy. Also the bad food is already eaten. What to communicate? I don’t need refund I need health.
- you use local fresh supplies.
- No you don’t. What’s your evidence? What’s your daily procurement record? Only one small slice tomato in the dish and you screwed it. That’s just a reflection on the carelessness of management and quality control. Zero excuse here.
- I might come after couple of month to retry. I like the place but food quality is a big issue. If the food is bad again I won’t come ever.

I visited with kids and three of us shared 2 pots for dinner. We were all hungry and found the meal filling and satisfying. The pots are customizable. The place is comfortable with on-street parking available.

The food is okay, hit or miss. My boyfriend seems to like their hot pot. Their sesame balls are good. Their potions are bigger than expected... They sometimes make mistakes on his order and he still comes back. Some days there are nice lady's and other days there is a mean lady who ignores customers and shouts. I'm trying to get my boyfriend not to support their business since that lady is rude...

This is a nice addition to the wide selection of Asian-influenced restaurants on Sawtelle.
The menu is pretty basic, and Don’t expect to see many options or the ability to substitute anything for pork, although they will prepare your dish without it.
I had the seafood hot pot, which was good. I added some additions, but the portions of them are small and over-priced.
It would be great if they offered the option to build your own combo.
The prices are reasonable, and the service is adequate, although they seem a bit understaffed. The chairs are small, and not very comfortable — but this is the authentic feel of a real Taiwanese restaurant.
They recently added a new Coconut Chicken Pot, which is AMAZING! It comes with its own special sauce, but the regular sauce still goes well with it.

I’ve never had to wait but it usually takes a long time to get your order. I really like the creamy milk bowl but without seafood. It takes a while to get the waitresses attention to turn off the heat once the hot pot is boiling. Otherwise I love the food and the experience! Highly recommend.

This place reminds me of Taiwan, except of course with bigger serving size. Instead of many dishes of different ingredients, they put all into a boiling pot to simplify the serving process. It works for the customers here in the US. I do like this place. Good service too.

The best Taiwanese style personal hot pot, period. Taiwanese cuisine has been extended to west LA a while ago but the missing piece of the puzzle remains to be the Taiwanese hot pot like those served in Boiling point. This restaurant is just opened so we decided to give me a try. The menu has plenty of option and we chose the stinky tofu pot to test it's flavor authencity. One word for the broth: wonderful! It's just like the authentic Smelly pot in Taiwan without the spicy flavoring. The content of the personal hot pot is quite bountiful. People are complaining the quality of Boiling point has been declining over years and I think the overall good quality is on par with Boiling point 5 years ago, which is a good thing if you know what I mean :P. I highly recommend this place for all the people craving for some hot soup and fresh food in winter.
