Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles right now. I had gone in Chicago a few years ago and have been to Girl & the Goat L.A. for dinner three times now. Chef Izard is truly a food genius! The entire kitchen and front of house team do an amazing job. Everything is so delicious, I did a shoulder shimmy after almost every bite. The food is packed with flavor but still well balanced and the menu draws from numerous culinary regions and traditions. Already starting to plan my next visit!
A truly special, special meal. Every dish was phenomenal and makes you realize how good food can be. Our waitress Allison could not have been more friendly.
We got the green beans, roasted oysters, stone fruit salad, pork belly, goat belly, and scallops. Each one was simply phenomenal. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!!

Summary: Great food, staff and atmosphere in the patio area. Will likely return if in LA.
As for the food, we had the pork liver mousse, duck tartare, pork belly salad, roasted oysters and goat curry. Of those, the pork belly salad was surprisingly delightful while the roasted oyster ended up being good but least memorable. The rest were great.

This place was AMAZING! I loved the decor, the atmosphere and the food! I don't think I had one bad thing. Went with family for my brother's birthday so we ordered a lot of different things on the menu and we literally scarfed them down the second they hit the table. Desserts were delicious too!

Fantastic experience with amazing flavors. Polished but very cozy atmosphere. The sticky pork shank was my favorite. The dessert was a plantain cake with espresso-mascarpone mousse was amazing. I don't like coffee but the flavors balanced very well!

Great place to enjoy multiple fun dishes with top notch service. Your water will be refilled before you even notice they are getting low. Had several dishes here and each one was uniquely fun and delicious. The green beans and hamachi were my personal favorite. But everything from the duck tar tar to curry was delicious. Even some of the items such as the skirt steak that may have not been the best we’ve ever had were super unique and fun to eat. Really good for experiencing different flavors in awesome open atmosphere.

Absolutely loved it. My friend specifically requested this place for her birthday dinner, it is tough to get a reservation on a weekend night and I can see why. The art, the decor, the music, and the food!! Everything was so great and aesthetically pleasing that we wished there was a dance floor there so we could just stay and enjoy the night. We were please with the flavors and cocktails. Will be back and will be trying sister restaurants!

This place is sister to the namesake and iconic Chicago restaurant, and is definitely establishing itself firmly in the LA culinary scene. Went for brunch and it was just the ideal that one always longs for - creative, fun, and tasty -
- everything crumpets: almost every table ordered this and there wasn’t for no reason; really liked the fluffy crumpets themselves and the smoked salmon with other pickles and stuff went really well with that
- pork belly chap chae: quite surprised to see what it actually was; a bowl of glass noodles, felt very Asian, but also hard to relate it to any particular dish; refreshing, and just the sort of lovely dishes that words won’t do justice and one has to try
- yogurt & granola: very aesthetically presented and tasted even better ;)
The nice location in the art district plus the large well-designed indoor and outdoor spaces are worth mentioning too. Again, highly recommend, and will come back and try dinner!

Let me tell you. I’ve eaten all over LA for years, and this was probably the most exciting culinary experience I’ve had so far. The combination of flavors and textures in each dish were new and astounding. We ordered 9 dishes between 3 people and were stuffed. Everything was extraordinary but the stone fruit salad and the GREEN BEANS were my personal standouts, cause I’ve never had anything like em. If you go late at night on a weekday, there’s plenty of street parking :p

Wow! I had the pleasure of eating at the original in Chicago a few years ago and was completely blown away. Simply stated... welcome to LA!
The space is great as it occupies a corner location with... wide open restaurant feel including a very large square bar that dominates the middle of the room. The side patio dining areas were cool also and seemingly an idyllic place to have a bite.
The menu, while certainly updated from a California perspective hits on so many points that I almost ordered a couple of things twice... but then I kept looking at all the things I still wanted to try so it seems like I’ll be back soon. I will say that she does a great job with a lot of the nontraditional cuts... and if a shank or uniquely prepared goat dish is on the menu give it a try!
Cocktails were unique and great tasting, the wine list was certainly rounded enough to mix with her cuisine wonderfully. It also seems like she grabbed all of the best of the wait staff available in town because the service was very professional and on point the whole night.
