I went to bar hermanito three times this month and loved every single thing I ordered. For brunch, guac and chips is an absolutely classic and their chips are so deliciously seasoned. The matcha salsa wings here are one of the best wings I’ve ever tasted in my life! The wings are so juicy and crispy on the outside, with the unique salsa, just YUM! For dinner, the Peking duck is definitely something that’s different from the traditional Peking duck, it’s more bitter here. My favorite is the mushroom appetizer, it was so amazing! The tacos and nachos are good too. For dessert, I HIGHLY recommend the tres leches, I love how soaked the cake was. The size is shareable for two people too. Overall, I’m confident that this is my favorite restaurant in sawtelle! After coming here for brunch, dinner, and happy hours, I think that dinner menu is the best, but happy hours definitely give you a good deal!
Should stay open later, at least on Thursdays !
Waiters, bar and cocktails are all nice ????????
Definitely would recommend

Decent tacos, the fish taco was very fresh and the carne asada was tasty and tender.
The tres leches was the best I’ve ever had in my life.

This place is so good! I loved the food and the place itself is so cute. They have lots of outdoor seating perfect for summer and the staff was very kind. I will absolutely be back often! We are vegetarian and had some good options here

TL;DR - Excellent vibes, delicious food, plenty of drink options, and pricing that's pretty standard for Sawtelle.
There's plenty of outdoor seating, and the heaters make it quite nice during the colder months. The cocktails are delicious, especially if you're a fan of tequila. I always get the tacos here, which are super tasty. Overall, the place just has a great atmosphere. And they take reservations!

We walked by on our way to Somi Somi one random (taco) Tuesday night and saw this place HOPPIN’ with people, music, and lights so we knew we had to come try. We’ve now been twice and I’m itching to go again! They have created the best outdoor space with fires, heaters, and twinkle lights. It’s so cozy and welcoming. The bao buns, guacamole, & wings are incredible appetizers. The cocktails (& mocktails!) are on point. But, surprisingly, I think they claim the title of my favorite fish tacos in LA? All the tacos are good, but this is what I’m craving to return for. My photos are from June, when we went last in late November all menu items were served in disposable containers. I know that bothers some people to no end, so just a fair warning. I didn’t mind at all. The tres leches is very good, I would definitely get it the first time you go. But there are many great dessert places nearby so next time evaluate if you’d rather have fish cone soft serve from Somi Somi, cream puffs from Beard Papa, or crème brûlée crepes from millet crepes. God I love Sawtelle.

Blown away by this restaurant. The food was delightful and nothing tasted quite like I expected. Service was very good, and the drinks were plenty strong. For appetizers, you can’t miss out on the chicken wings, and the maitake mushrooms were also impressive. Tacos were excellent but could have used some more inspired plating. Although the Peking duck was tasty, the sauce is bitter rather than sweet so it isn’t going to taste right if you were expecting the classic Beijing style. To top it off, the tres leches cake was so decadent two of us could barely finish it, and it was a great capstone for the meal.

Yes on the Shrimp Tacos, and yes to the Birria Beef Tacos. The shrimp Tacos have a deep smokey grilled flavor tempered with a creamy slaw. The Birria Beef Tacos come out piping hot. The shell is infused with cheese, super melty in contrast with the savory shredded beef.

Delicious Mexican-Japanese fusion food. Very distinct combination of tastes and colors. Everything was really great and very appeasing to the senses. My favorite was the ceviche with orange juice. Definitely a repeat visit. Staff was very nice and patrons are friendly as well.
