Had the opportunity to visit Jack's family kitchen while visiting the LA area and the food was great as well as the service....everyone made you feel welcome. I would definitely recommend this spot. I had the two egg breakfast it was so good I didn't get a picture. My husband had the fried chicken also very good option.
Maybe I came on an off day. I was excited to try after I saw multiple people talking about how good the food was. I got the salmon croquettes, grits, eggs, home fried potatoes, and a pancake. My food tasted bland, I’m not a huge salty food lover but I had to add salt to everything in order for it to taste decent. The pancake was really good and probably the only thing I’d go back for. I’m going to give them another try and if anything changes I will update my rating. Overall, their staff was nice, the restaurant was clean, and they had a good atmosphere.

The atmosphere is very family-friendly. The foods were delicious. They do a great job of working quickly to get your food served on time.

What do you get when you have an old school diner and a jukeboke providing ALL the vibes? Jack's Family Kitchen. I have seen this place dozens of time and finally make the decision to dine.
A friend of mine from college was visiting me and I thought I'd taken her to all relevant areas of LA. Since we were both in the breakfast mood, I decided a new spot would be the thing.
The food, the food, the food. The only place I normally get good grits is my mom's house. I ordered the Denver omelette with a side of grits. And a hot chocolate. Boy, let me tell you it hit just right. Like, YEAH. And more importantly, they have great customer. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Good people, good food and good vibes... you can't ask for more.

Nice down home atmosphere. The biscuits were very good, but the potatoes had an aftertaste I didn't like, the scrambled eggs and smoked sausage were OK.

Came here to place a to go order. Place smelled amazing walking in and the music definitely was a whole vibe. The waitress attitude was a little stank until she saw I left a tip then that attitude turned to gratitude. The salmon cakes definitely where delicious. I was very pleased with the taste and portion. My boyfriend got the fried chicken which was mediocre at best. I would definitely revisit.

Southern down home food and friendly service. The cleanest and neatest restaurant establishments I have ever seen.
Jack’s (Black Owned) has always been a beacon in the neighborhood and community. One of the top 3 best breakfast ???? places in all of Los Angeles. I’ve been eating here for over 30 years. I’m a trucker, your City workers, Water and Power workers, Electrician, etc.. and all your working folks stop at Jack’s for a quick breakfast bite. The grits are creamy, homemade fluffy biscuits, the chicken wings and pork chops, chicken sausage patties, salmon croquettes are ???? Hello Ms. Edi and Ms. Hellen the best waitresses ever.

I ordered on the phone was told 1 hout wait for my food. No problem. Pretty good. The lady on the phone was so sweet. I go to pick up food its done in 45 mins. But the ham was cold. Eggs were ok but damn $21 and my ham was cold. Other than that it was a great breakfast.

So I was craving a good old fashion hash brown with ham and cheese omelette like I use to get from Chris burgers if everyone remembers that place. Well let me say they brought me back!
We ordered
1 Denver omelette with hash brown
1 chicken sausage with eggs and bacon
1 eggs bacon and hashbrown
Everyone was satisfied the food was filling and the customer service was excellent.
Covid measurement: they don’t allow ppl in the restaurant to wait for food. You have to wait outside. They provide a buzzer!
Tip: order ahead and pick up.
