The wait can be crazy long! We waited for about 1.5 hours (original estimate was 2 hours) for a party of 2 on a Saturday night. However, if you don't mind waiting a few hours then it may be worth it. We ended up drinking sake at another restaurant while waiting for this one so it wasn't too bad. Time flies when you're tipsy!
Anyways, the food quality here is really good! They have your table ready to go with the fire on and sides ready to eat. We went with the beef servings for 2-3 and got some short ribs. Super delicious and very tender and tasty. The waiter will do the preparations of the meat so just sit back and enjoy!
It's in a plaza complex and Quarters is nearby too. I'd check in at both and then go to whichever one is ready for you first. KBBQ in LA is definitely a must and this one is worth a try if you're willing to wait!
Korean BBQ at its finest!! This place is a bit more expensive than other locations you can find, however the service and the quality is unmatched. The brisket is mouth watering, rib eye juicy, and the marinated beef is to die for. But the real treasure for me was the pork belly!! So mouth watering. Mix that with all the sides, egg, cheese corn, fried kimchi, radish, salads, sauces and you have one mean meal!!
This isn’t one of the BBQ places where you pay to cook yourself, they handle everything for you. If there is something you want just ask!! Such an amazing place. Will definitely be returning. Weekends and nights it’s BUSY!!

Long standing Korean BBQ that’s known for its service. I think it’s had better days but that’s not a harsh criticism; it’s still very good but maybe a bit less value than before. The 꽃살 (short rib) is amazing. The marinated beef needs a bit of a kick; just dip it in the soy/onion/wasabi dip that’s provided and you’re set.
The numerous side dishes that are provided are good value as they are refillable.

Great quality food, great service. We ordered the Small Pork Combo and an order of Brisket with some drinks. If you have only ever had the chance to eat AYCE KBBQ then I highly recommend trying this place. The meat quality is much better, and the sides have much more flavor as well. I would overall recommend, but this will definitely break the bank if you go too often T_T

Delicious Korean BBQ! We came in at noon as to avoid a large crowd. The food was great and the service was amazing as well. Some of our favorites were the ribeye, seafood pancake, and the eggs on the side (included) were delightful. There was also parking for 2 hrs for 4 dollars right behind the restaurant. Highly recommend this place, a must visit restaurant if visiting!

High quality meats, good service. I’m still a little weirded out that the severs cook your meat and that it’s not all you can eat, but its the business model and customers cooking means fewer people through the door. Egg, cheesy corn, peppers and onions get cooked in troughs adjacent to the grill at each table and the banchan is good. Ventilation is decent, you’ll still come out smelling like Korean BBQ, but not as saturating as some other local places

I give Kang Ho Dong 4 stars and not 5 because of the following:
Negatives:
- I thought the banchan (side dishes that come included with the meal) were the bare minimum. I’ve been to places that go all out with banchan that fill up the entire table with servers being very attentive with refills.
- I was hoping for lettuce wraps and ssamjang because all the places I’ve been to offer that, but they had salad with soy dressing and another salad with spicy dressing plus rice and radish wraps, so it was a fine substitute. I actually really liked the salads. I’ve never had a rice wrap before, so that was a great experience.
- It is expensive, but I was expecting that in LA.
- The wait was pretty long, about an hour. We originally were planning to go to Quarters, but it was a two hour wait, so we just went to Lang Ho Dong. I’m glad we went to Kang Ho Dong though.
Positives:
- The quality of meat is superb.
- The employees cook the meat for you. Some people might not like that, but I liked it. It reminded me of Benihana. It’s like a free cooking show!
- The service was super fast. All the banchan and water were already set up by the time we got the table.
- The ambiance is very fun. There’s loud mainstream party music.
Other notes:
The quality of meat was absolutely delicious! It was so tender, juicy, and mouth watering. The worker who cooked our meat cooked it perfectly. I was not used to the employees cooking the meat for us, but I actually like that better than us cooking it ourselves.
I’m from Chicago, so this restaurant was very refreshing because it’s so different than what I’m used to. In Chicago, all kbbq places are very traditional, mom and pop stores. Loud hip EDM is not being blasted like it was at Kang Ho Dong, but I loved it. It was a vibe! I was with a few friends and drinking, so it was super fun!
We got the large beef combo for 4 people and it was plenty of food for us. We were all stuffed. The kimchi jigae was also delicious! If you and your party eat a lot, the quantity might not be enough.

I read a few less than stellar reviews, but heard such great things. We checked it out anyway and was not disappointed. We had a good time, good service, and good food. Even cheap parking.
We paid about $135 dollars for 3 of us. Was not cheap! But very good.

One of the very best spots to enjoy Korean BBQ! The salad is bottomless and SO GOOD! Try as much meat as possible to get the full experience.
The cook the meat right there in front of you! All of the different meats need to be cooked differently so they cook them one by one and you enjoy them all separately. You must try the sauce they give you to dip the meat into...it is so unique and delicious!
I would consider this a MUST try when in LA. Make reservations if possible. There is a boutique and convenience store right next door so if you have to wait, that is a fun way to kill time.

Let’s start with the good. The flavor and authenticity of the dishes were spot on. Speaking from experience, the food was flavorful and tasted like what my mom would make at home. Unlike my mother however, this restaurant did not care if I had a good time eating. The service was nonexistent, to the point where my friend had to cook the meat. We asked 3 times for more side dishes before they were delivered with less than what we started with. I don’t blame the waiter, but rather the system he’s working under. The restaurant filled out the outdoor seating before indoor, and we waited 20 minutes despite the restaurant being empty. For the prices they charge, I did not get my money’s worth eating here. What an unfortunate dining experience.
