Coming here for years but sadly I never did write a review. Not only is this one of the best bakeries in LA but one of the best bakeries anywhere. I’m writing a review tonight because just saw the tail end of an exchange with an incredibly unpleasable customer. The staff or owner – were speaking to her and being incredibly accommodating. But she wouldn’t have it and left off in a huff, nasty as could be. I’m just impressed the way they handled her and it’s a great business with excellent, excellent products! We just spent the last year in London, Paris and Europe, and we’re not missing the bakeries there, because happily, there is Michelina!
Great bread and burrata sandwich on banquette was perfection. Their plastic waste makes me sad.

This local listing they created and maintain shows they're open until 9pm but they were closed when I showed up at 7pm. The cashier was still there when theey arrived and when I told her the store hours show 9pm, she said she knows, and that's for the whole farmer's market, not her store. How incompetent & dumb can they be where they can’t update their hours on their google listing? Smh!

First of all the coffee and the bakery items are good...unfortunately the last 2 times I have been at Michelina the server has been very rude.
First time: My friend and I: The petite woman server was standing about 2 feet from myself and this friend at the cash register. The server was chit chatting with another employee... about some personal conversation and looking right at us. She still didn't come ask us if she could help. 2 feet from the cash register. After several minutes... I had to ask if we could get some help and she then decided to help us.
My friend thanked me for being the one to have to ask her for help. We were both put off with her behavior.
Second time...my husband and I have ordered...we were trying to get seated at your counter... as it was very busy we had to move chairs around. We weren't interested in take home so the cash register person gave us some plates and napkins and utensils. We were just getting settled, waiting for our coffee and bakery item...and the same petite woman server from before is behind us saying very loudly...EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME. She's reaching for our plates as if they weren't ours...I asked what she is doing? We felt she was insinuating that we were trying to steal the plates. It was so weird. We didn't know what was happening. She told me to "Not cop at attitude" when I asked her what she was doing. By the way she didn't clean the counter which she claimed she trying to do. I had to uncomfortably ask her to come clean the coffee rings off the counter after all this rudeness from her.
It's too bad one person can cause such chaos.

Best baguette in town! This is the only place I will ever buy my baguettes from now on. Michelina has become the excuse for me to visit the farmers market more often.
Now, when it comes to service, I have ready many complaints. When I got there, there was this old lady who spends at least 5 minutes changing her mind about the bread she wanted to purchase. There were 4 loaves of the same kind of bread and she had the girl who worked there, a tall brunette, pick up each of them and put them back one after the other because she couldn't decide. Any person would have lost their cool but the sales girl remained calm and was very professional about the whole thing.

This is a neighborhood gem that is easily one of the top bakery/patisserie in Los Angeles. The open bar seating serves wonderful quiches, baguette and pastries. Whenever I am at the Grove, I stop by and treat myself to a taste of Paris!
They also offer American flavor dessert like Red Velvet in a French pastry. It’s definitely worth checking out if you like French bakeries.

Swing by for a pastry or stay for an excellent breakfast. The quiche lorraine is one of the best around and any of the egg dishes are perfectly prepared. Their pastry design is incredible art and each perfectly flaky and delicate. Also love lox with the onion bagel. Always a top stop in the Original Farmer’s Market.
