Love Northern Cafe Dumpling. My favorite is their chicken dumplings. There are 10 dumplings per order, enough for 2 people if you order another dish, or, a filling meal for 1 person! The dining area is very, very clean. As I was waiting for my dumplings last week, I watched the person at the counter disinfect the credit card machine, the pens, the counter, and everything else that was movable! This place is clean, clean, clean!! Next time I will relax and eat in and not take out!!
First of all I didn’t choose this location. This was my first time eating from this location and my overall experience was not good at all. The information on their website isn’t correct. They have what looks like two locations around the corner from each other. The hours on their website are not correct. After getting my order I tried calling and they never answered the phone. I used they’re website to submit a message and had no response. I returned to both locations and both were closed.
We ordered lunch for my office from here. A lot of the items on their menu were not available. I changed what I was ordering to their “H5. Kung Pao Chicken Served with a side of rice. Spicy.” It was not spicy, and it was beyond salty I couldn’t eat it at all. I tried mixing it with the rice but the saltiness just made it inedible. I thought maybe it was just me so I kept the food arrived at home and had my husband taste it. He said the more he chewed the more saltier it tasted, and it was not spicy at all.
Overall a very bad first time experience. I would not recommend it at all. I have had better food at other restaurants in the area.

The dumplings had good flavor, especially the pan fried. Very nice sauces at the table to complement the fillings. Service was fast and the prices are reasonable

I ordered the xiaolongbao (XLB) and shrimp wonton. The XLBs arrived on the table lukewarm. There was hardly any soup inside the wrapping. The skin was tough and rubbery.
The shrimp wonton had shrimp inside, which is good. But rather than having a shrimp or fish based filling inside, the wonton was stuffed with two small pieces of shrimp and (from what I saw and tasted) shredded cucumber.
This was an extremely disappointing restaurant experience. It will take a lot to convince me to come back to this place.

Very mediocre. Slightly expensive for the quality of food you get. The rice cake wasn’t bad but I can’t say that I loved the dumplings, steamed or fried.this place could be an okay option in the nearby neighborhood if you crave Chinese food but the dumplings could have been much better.

Fast service. Good prices. Casual dining. Went as a group. Spent close to $30/person including tax and tip. Friendly staff. Variety of food options but not the most extensive menu. Two other locations for other food focus. This location had dumplings and some vegetarian options. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Enjoyed overall experience. Can park on street or Broxton parking garage.

Went here to satisfy our dimsum cravings. We ordered the Scallion Pancake, Pork Wontons in Spicy Sauce, Juicy Pork & Crab Dumplings, and Shrimp, Egg, & Yellow Chive Dumplings. They had good portions and were reasonably priced.
The wrapper on the soup dumpling was a little thicker for my liking, but nonetheless was still yummy. The spicy sauce was so good that I dipped all of the other dumplings in it, though the filling in the actual wonton itself was a little hard (?). Scallion pancakes were flaky and yummy.

From Texas we have visited the first restaurant in L.A over our expection. That’s the reason pushes me to rate 5 stars immedately!!
The food is wonderful. We ordered 3 plates Onion Pancake, Chingqing Spicy Chicken and Juicy Pork Dumplings which were all made fresh when we had ordered. The meat was fresh, food was hot but the wait time was less.
The service is great and friendly. The guy was with the hair a bit long and wears glass really nice and ambitious. The other guy with yellow hair also nice.
They were unique. You order and pay first at the counter. Then you can looking for the empty table to sit and enjoy your meal.
—> Overall, the restaurant is clean, the servers are nice and the food is tasty. Would recommend and come back next time if visit L.A.

I have been coming to this place for takeouts for years. I was extremely disappointed with my beef noodle today. This is an iconic item and for the first time my beef came in thin and blend slices today rather than the usual flavorful chunks. Considering that they have raised the price multiple times in the last few years, this is simply not acceptable. 打電話問還理直氣壯地說最近改的 =.=
