Delicious martinis and bresaola which I love and is hard to find! The owners are charming and even Kurlicious!
The food is pretty amazing here and the service is some of the best. A friend recommended this place out when they have a great menu selection too.

Very cool place! Reasonable prices, chic music and atmosphere, delicious food and tinctures!!! As far as food is concerned, every time something new and awesome. Reminds me of some kind of apartment building or a barbecue, or even going to barbecue in a pleasant company!) everyone is smart, beautiful, cheerful! I've been there several times, and every time I got on the most delicious street food from the chef)

Nice Italian restaurant, they have a nice classical menu.
A wide selection of antipasti, pasta, secondi and desserts or gelato/sorbet.
We both were interested in the linguine alla frutti di mare. It was really good but somehow, everything was on the top and the pasta on the lower part. I would suggest you to mix the pasta at the beginning for more flavors????
We then went for the Torta della Nonna by Bindi as a dessert. I was very happy I choose this, lemon custard pie, it was really good.
I would recommend this place for a calm dinner.

The pizza seems somehow misplaced, but then they inherited a pizza oven and are apparently putting it to good use (the last place was a pizzeria)
fresh, fresh, fresh and original
Okay. Update: my review is based on my one visit and my sister and her husband's many visits (they live nearby and he's a chef). They love it. I loved it. BUT my friend's friends (a couple) went there for a b-day celebration more recenly and said everything sucked--the service and just mediocre food. Don't know what to think of this. I guess I shall go back and investigate (still sounds like a yummy idea to me)

I am an Italian American of 100% Sicilian ancestry. I grew up in a home with my Sicilian immigrant grandparents and they spent a lot of time impressing upon me the supreme importance of hospitality in Italian culture. Italian food is half food and half ritual without both components you have either bad food or an experience that satisfies the palate and not the soul. Pastina Trattoria is so authentic that I have lost the will to go to any other Italian restaurant in Los Angeles, CA. I'm sure there are other great Italian places in the city but it's a 70 mile drive and I don't have the time to be disappointed. It's a known quantity.

I will not lie, the food was decent, but the server was very rude. As soon as we walked in, he didn't say a word, and we were seated, and that's okay. When he brought the bread out, he tossed the bread basket, and also the silverware. There was one other table besides us so it was not busy at all. When the food came out, he tossed the dish down and also tossed the spoons down in the middle of the table. When we asked him if there was a problem he said "no" as expected. We told him we feel like he was being rude and he said "ME? I have been a server for many yrs and you're the second person to tell me that" So I said okay and decided to let it go. But we didn't really enjoy the food bc of the unpleasant customer service experience. We live close by and we are always trying different Italian restaurants but if you aren't Italian, please avoid thus place. Save your energy and time please. The owner, I saw him chatting with a customer at the bar, he seemed professional and welcoming, maybe he should have a word with his servers before they bring his business down.

This time I went at lunchtime, and I was blessed that I had the privacy, the calm, the waiter LuÃs as always impeccable in the way he serves, the 6-star food, delicious. For me, this is one of the best in Los Angeles for Italian food. For those who like Lava Cake, I think the video should show how delicious it is. Excellent!

My family and I have eaten many welcoming, delicious dinners here over the years with amazing service and food. This is to let people know what a great lunch spot Pastina is, especially given how few strong business or pleasure sit-down lunch options there are in this corner of Westwood/Rancho. Watch out for the fresh baked bread that comes to the table with olive oil. It might fill you too much to enjoy the fantastic food from soups to vegetarian to pastas to flavorful meats and fish. As I write this review I’m enjoying a simply grilled but unbelievably tasty pounded chicken breast, potato barley soup in a chicken stock and some parma. Frank, Nancy and the gang will make you feel at home in this special neighborhood place.

Got the gnocchi and tried a couple bites of other dishes. The gnocchi was nothing to write home about, but hit the spot after a few drinks. Nice place to stop in if you're hungry and looking for Italian. Service was very friendly as well.
