I tried the chocolate chip cookie for 3 dollars. I was not able to get a croissant, they run out of those quickly according to the cashier, you have to be here bright and early. I stopped by around noon, the cookie was alright. There wasn't a lot of chocolate, i counted 3 small chips. And they were all in the center of the cookie. It didn't taste like a good balance of sweet and salty. Not mind blowing, it's just a cookie. But try COFFEE COMMISARY BAKERY! THEY HAVE GIGANTIC COOKIES AND REALLY NICE PASTRIES BAKED FRESH DAILY.

I entered this bakery for the first (and last time).
They had very few items in the window that looked like leftovers.
I rarely eat sweets, but wanted that day. But, the bakery employee quicky cut my appetite and desire to treat myself.
I wanted to get a slice of the chocolate cake. There was a whole brand new chocolate cake there. I asked for that, but the employee told me they CAN'T give me that.
I was speechless and didn't know what to say... So, I asked what does she mean? Didn't get a straight answer, just that they won't give me that.
I have never heard anything like that, as a "customer service" response.
If their cake was still frozen or whatever the hell their reason was to not sell me a slice of that cake, then they should keep it in the back, until they're ready to sell.
Or it may just be that they're racist. Who knows?

This place is amazing! I’ve been searching for good croissants in LA for a while now and this place really knocks it out of the park. The croissants were so fluffy and not over baked (I’m not a bien cuit croissant fan). I also picked up a canelé which was equally as good.

Went here to try the Chocolate Espresso Cake as seen on Worth it. Was delicious and met my expectations. The bakery itself has a cute chill vibe, despite no seating indoors. Lots of other breakfast and lunch items which looked good!

This popular worker-owned cooperative in Atwater Village knows how to make pastries. Their croissants get pretty good marks on my scoreboard: flaky outside, moist inside, with a nice buttery taste. A little bit on the light and soft side, but that's all I can nitpick. Other items I've tried are on point too, including za'atar croissant, ham and cheese croissant, savory scone, and canelé.

That said, I got bored after a few weeks going to Proof. However nice the staff seems, the vibe of the bakery is that of a business, not of a neighbor. There is always one staff member behind the counter to prepare the order, and another person at the cashier for the payment. The streamline process inadvertently makes it harder to initiate a meaningful, personal interaction and makes the experience more transactional. At the end of the day, when the pastry is long gone, there is little left to remember.

This has been one of my favorite places since I moved to the area. I had heard about it beforehand, but when I finally tried it, it didn’t disappoint. The coffee/tea area is awesome, the pastries are always fresh, the quiche/sandwiches blow my mind and I love that they sell other things as well.

Definitely check them out around lunch if you want a great little sandwich on fresh bread.

Got the spinach and cheese. It was really tasty. Fun area too! We enjoyed waking around and looking at the cute shops after eating our pastries.

Been a couple times to Proof Bakery, and easy to say my recent visit was the best! All the bakes were on point, lamination was beautifully done, and the canelé was pure perfection. The canelé is their signature item and you should absolutely get a couple for the road. The chocolate espresso cake was incredibly moist and 100% acceptable for breakfast (or so I tell myself). Also don’t leave without one of their chai shortbread cookies, it’s a stunner.

It's a good little bakery/coffee shop with plenty of pastries, cakes, cookies and coffee. I ordered a few pastries and a latte and it was good. I don't see why people make a long line for this place though, the coffee was good but far from the best, and pastries are also good but not something I would make a line for.

Prices are the usual third wave coffee shop prices at $4.50+ for coffee and $3+ for pastries (At least the ones I got).

Service was good, the place is kept clean and very strict with COVID rules which is great for us customers and their employees.

Would swing by again if there's no line.
