I would give it 5 stars. Because the food was amazing. But the service was horrible. We asked for an extra side of sour cream 3 times. While we watched employees stand around laughing and talking. Our waiter never came back to ask if we wanted more chips and salsa or more water. Oh and we finally got the sour cream. 15 minutes later. Then we had to ask our waiter for the check. Once we got our food. We never saw him again.
Absolutely loved this place! We had some trouble booking our reservation online but when we called to clarify, the hostess was very kind and helpful. When we arrived, the restaurant was so lively— tables full and music blasting, still they sat us immediately and started us off with the most delicious beans and salsa i’ve ever had. I recommend getting the margarita flight if you’re not looking to get too buzzed but still wanting to enjoy some good drinks. We ended up ordering the Mar y Tierra and Tacos de Hongo and they did not disappoint. The handmade tortillas were probably my favorite part of the whole thing because you can see them making them and then they bring them to you fresh and warm! Definitely worth the price point. Overall great experience, I recommend to anyone who loves good food and good music.

We Enjoyed a Wonderful lunch afternoon to the Movies ( Regal) down the street.
Nice Contemporary decor. Greeted by a Friendly Hostess. It was around 3pm ( Tuesday) so not crowded.
Our Server Gerardo was Absolutely Fantastic! Friendly and Helpful with our menu choices! He & other waitstaff are efficient & professional which enhanced Our Dining experience.
Now the Food!!
Started with Coconut Margarita ( Me) Refreshing, beautiful, & good! Spicy Mango Margarita ( Hubby) Smokey& Good!
Warm Chips & salsa( house made goodness) w/ bean dip.
We enjoyed Mariscos Enchiladas ( me) & Filet mignon Enchiladas ( hubby) ! Fresh and yummy! The plate came with two & I took one Enchilada home to eat for dinner!
Even though we were full..there is always room for dessert!
We shared the Butter Cake! Warm goodness! Accompanied by a mousse & ice cream. Oh, and the Mexican coffee was perfect with the cake!!
We will definitely return !
We parked in Lot ($10l across the street from the Regal.

Great new spot for happy hour!! Definitely a little more gourmet than the local chain restaurants and at the same price. Would definitely recommend when the fast food happy hour is getting old.

Excellent spot at LA Live, the wait wasn’t that bad on a Saturday night. The decor is modern and the bar side looks like a good spot for a drink. The chips(a little stale but still good), the salsa and bean dip were great.
I ordered the chicken tortilla soup, Chilean sea bass(super tender and flavorful, was cooked to perfection), Pork belly bites(nice and crunchy, like chicharon but with more meat) , Pulpo Alas Brasas(octupus that was cooked perfectly and it was super tender/flavor)& a tequila on the rocks.
Overall a great experience with excellent customer service and I would definitely dine here again!

The food here is amazing! I came to try it out for dineLA and I’ll have to say I was more than pleasantly surprised. I didn’t have a reservation but they were able to accommodate me pretty easily.
First they served tortilla chips with both salsa and a refried bean with pork dipping sauce. The refried beans was nice and hot.
I ordered the jalapeño cream soup because of all the reviews, and it was soooooo good! One of the servers told me it won an award at San Juan Capistrano. The soup had some roasted corn too, which added depth and complexity.
For my entree I got the carnitas because that’s what they’re known for. These were some of the best I’ve ever had. So juicy and tender, with a nice crispy exterior. It came was served with lettuce and frisée with dressing, rice, refried black beans, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and homemade tortillas. The combination of all of these made this dish outstanding.
For dessert I chose the butter cake (also because of the recommendations), and it came with some ice cream, some creamy delicious schmear on the plate, a black berry, a raspberry and two small mint leaves. This dessert was exquisite.
For dineLA, this meal hit it out of the park. I’ll definitely be coming back here again.

Absolutely my favorite Mexican restaurant in LA! The service was absolutely amazing and super friendly! Also the food is outstanding! We had their brunch before the Lakers noon game, the carnitas Benedicts were out of this world great! The El Americano breakfast is super fresh! The Chilequiles were very tasty and seasoned well! Would definitely come back here again!

Me and my friends had came here on Saturday (Super Bowl Eve) to have dinner and have a night out. The overall interior design was excellent, the location right in the smack middle of L.A. Live and on top of that the night vibe was great. I personally had the Chile Colorado with a Cadillac Margarita (which was SLAMMING and FIRE ????)!!! Frankie our waiter was excellent and his customer service was AMAZING! I would definitely come back here in the future if I'm in the mood for Mexican food with class, and style. Great job Sol Agave!
