I went to Tao for my birthday dinner celebration with my family and had a WONDERFUL time. If you've never been to any Tao location you're in for quite a surprise when you walk in and see how large and gorgeous the restaurant is. It's decor is absolutely stunning. I requested a booth because loved the look of it with the lights overhead and was accommodated with no issue. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful and really made out meal even better because she was so kind and funny. All of the food was delectable; I especially enjoyed all of the dim sum options. My family is full of people with different tastes and there was something we each loved and enjoyed all of it. My parents had also arranged with the restaurant to bring me a giant birthday platter with a huge fortune cookie to celebrate and it was all delicious and fantastic. I don't want to spoil anything but make sure you read your fortune from your cookie in the end! I really loved Tao and I'll be back to this one and the one in NYC soon!
The check in was disappointing, we had to wait for almost an hour before we we’re shown to our table. How’s it ok for restaurants to keep customers waiting for so long, when they would cancel reservations with a charge if customer shows up even 15 minutes late?
Every time I asked, the person at the reception gave me different BS excuses, finally after speaking to the manager we were seated swiftly.
I liked the overall layout, the decor and the ambiance of the restaurant. The atmosphere- though vibey was quite pretentious.
Unfortunately, as with the service the food too didn’t live up to the expectations. We ordered several items and everything was just ok at best. To add to the experience, our server spilled water on all over the clothes of my friend while pouring into his glass.
This is a very mediocre restaurant - that pretends to be upscale (good for them that people eating what they’re selling)! There are many better options available in LA.

A different experience without a doubt in los angeles. The food is delicious. All the flavors are unique and you quickly realize that you are eating quality in each dish, whether it is fish, meat or one of their other dishes.
The services are also tailored, from the moment you are waiting to be seated until you leave.
Highly recommended

The food was pricey but great! I had the triple pork fried rice, edamame and some strawberry fizzy alcoholic drink that made the start of my two day trip worth it!! Please go just make sure you make reservations!!! But the ambiance and the music selection was really the perfect combo!

It’s important to have a reservation. The restaurant is all inside with very low light and Asian atmosphere. Food Was Amazing, especially the sea bass. The staff was great, they recommend that you share plates for a better experience.

A+ Love this place. Always fantastic food. Service is on par & ambiance is exceptional. Overall I'd give this spot a shot and you will find that you are not disappointed. Drinks are unique & the flower that comes makes it a little nicer ????

I have been here several times, but mostly for the lounge and bar. Really nice space with dim mood lighting and asian inspired decor. Very well designed lounge and restaurant with plenty of eye candy for those that appreciate design & details.

Amazing food and ambiance! Our server was awesome and gave us recommendations and there wasn’t one thing that we ate that wasn’t beyond delicious. Highly recommend the tuna pringles, sea bass skewers and noodles but I don’t think you can go wrong. Their lychee martini is also to die for! Great spot for a date night or a big group of people. We will definitely visit again!

Great drink menu. The fried rice was dry and didn't have much flavor. The sea bass was my favorite, probably of all time. It is too dark for me inside, yet romantic but not my lighting type. Younger crowd, very busy night. This is where the cool people hang out.. Made me wonder if I was cool?...
