Really good, I liked the way they grilled the onions with my carne asada. Horchata was good too. I was hungry so the plate was finished. I would recommend, they also made nachos by request and they were good. Only thing I felt like the salsa wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be.
Ive ordered from here dozens of times! Great serving amount with anything you order. I've relied on them countless times with their great hours. I've been able to pickup from here with very fast service without issue. But some of my feedback aligns with what Ive also been reading here in the 2 year timeframe which is guacamole is heavy on the onions. The onions are often roughly chopped as well so there's a lot of crunch where its a mouth full of onion where you feel like The actual Grinch lol. I'm going to blame my other feedback on covid times. I'm assuming they've lost some great cooks in the last 2 years. Because the last dozen of meals I've had here have ended in really not so fun bathroom trips. All my chicken enchiladas arrive pink pink pink. And they're doused in sauce and whatnot that it covers the pink if you dont look closely. Thought it was a dozen time fluke and since its the same ingredients in their Zarape bowl I was still having the same bodily response after. This place has been my first meal of the day sometimes thats how much I enjoyed them and still have a negative response after so its not something else Im eating thats causing it. But I hope the business sees this and takes this seriously! Please take care of this because undercooked meat is serious and is just a waste of materials and food. Ive experienced this with their shrimp tacos, zarape bowls, enchiladas, asada tacos. Flavor is good but please thoroughly cook your food before serving it. thanks!

good flavor, their salsa is very nice and tangy. ordered a chicken burrito and it was mostly rice and beans, but it did taste good. would have liked a better ratio of ingredients

I've been living in LA for 13 years and I'm angry it took me this long to find El Zarape. Hands down, this is some of the best Mexican food in the city! Every time I have family or friends visiting from out of town, El Zarape is the first place I take them to eat! The Cochinita Pibil is the best and I get it in everything I can; also fantastic Chilaquiles (the spicy arbol sauce is no joke) and has changed my view on mole with the Chicken Mole Quesadilla! Staff is friendly and remember repeat customers, really make you feel welcome! Definitely worth checking out!

It’s the authentic Mexican desayuno post-shift for me… the proof is in the salsa y’all! ????????
LA is so giving, gracias @el_zarape_cocina ????????????????
Elizabeth is so friendly, she remembered me right away and told me that I left my jacket and saved it for me! She’s also a great photographer! ????

Yes! Glad we stopped here. The asada tacos, chicken quesadilla, and horchata was all amazing! We got seconds ????. The only thing I'd change would be adding queso for chips, besides that, it was great!

Loved the drinks. The tacos and tortas. The tortas were delicious. The buns are the same ones they use for burgers so the size was reasonable. The taste of the food was 10/10. The spot is small so parking is limited. Find parking in the neighborhood. This taco spot definitely will be a place I would come again.
