I had the pleasure of dining here with a good friend who recommended Capital Grille. This was my first time and it was quite the experience.
A few things that made this experience stellar!
- The interior decor made me feel like I was in New York City, didn’t feel like I was in LA at all!
- Our server was punctual and very attentive to us even tho he had to wait on a few other tables.
- The food was coursed out perfectly and the presentation was great.
- The menu reads very good and everything flows from top to bottom.
- The lobster Mac and cheese how was the perfect amount of consistency between the lobster, shells and cheese! :) ( my all time fave!)
I really appreciated that the GM: Michael Callahan made his self present. He did a great job supporting his staff making our experiences one of a kind and seamless.
I am very familiar with the Downtown LA area and Capital Grille Nestling in on this block really made an impactful statement as many restaurants have came and went.
I am sure the neighborhood is grateful to have Capital Grille and all of its glory!
I most definitely will be returning back to try more dishes from the menu!
8/1/2022 - The Capital Grill in downtown Los Angeles opened in mid-July, 2021. The ambience and foods quality are top notch. Just by looking at the Lavosh Cracker and butter, I know it should beat both Fleming's or Morton's. After tasting, confirmed.
However, the Fleming's signature salad (walnuts, tomatoes, dried cranberries, red onion, lemon balsamic vinaigrette) is better than the one I had for a fairness comparison.
Thank Deserie for taking care of my coworker's birthday during our memorable lunch time with great services.

My hubby Robert and I celebrated our anniversary at The Capital Grille. It was our first time to dine at this restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by their salesperson Lismarie. She asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. We told her it was our anniversary. We asked her when this restaurant opened. She informed us July 2021. How awesome to share the same anniversary month with the restaurant! Our server Michelle was very nice, attentive and efficient. There was not a lot of food choices on the lunch menu but it was fine and made it easier to order. Hubby chose the New York Strip cooked Medium and Au Gratin Potatoes. I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Salmon with a side of cream of spinach. Michelle informed us we can order half servings of the sides which we did. We also ordered a bowl of the Clam chowder soup which our server put in two different soup cups which we appreciated. The basket of hot Sesame bread served with salted butter was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. So good! It came with thick crackers resembling matza bread but it was too hard for us to eat. The food we ordered was quite delicious! The ambiance was classy but not snobbish. Staff was friendly. We even received a handwritten anniversary greeting card and a complimentary dessert! We also noticed they had a variety of wines stored in a glass room of its own. We had a really great time! It was worth the expense and experience for a special occasion! We plan to dine there again. ❤️????

During the Oscars weekend we acted like total fan girls!!!!! And where do fan girls go…drumroll please ???? ???????? Capital Grille????????????
We got dressed up and headed out to celebrate our dearest cousins birthday.
Shoutout to ANEX who called ahead to notify them there was a birthday in the group.
Our table was decorated with confetti and a hand written card lay beautifully displayed at the table
LA is a busy town so valet parking should be expected. Make sure you have your tip money ready.
Upon entering the venue there’s a huge open bar to the right. This space is surrounded by TVs so if there’s a game your hoping to catch you’ll want to sit on that side of the room .
If you’re seeking a romantic, candlelight atmosphere head to your left.
We ordered a round of drinks and I became the official taste tester. The drinks were strong and suite and I especially loved our waiter who feverishly shook our cocktails table side along with a wonderful drink presentation.
Call me spoiled but I love a good show
The bread display was spot on and although you may not think it’s a big deal they serve your butter at room temperature. Have you ever noticed other place give you cold butter and you fight with your bread to make the butter spreadable
I ordered to Parmesan crusted lamb chops medium and quickly learned my dish was a fan favorite as everyone took a bite. No worries I’m a really good sharer
Truffle fries are also a must have. Most of the time the truffle butter is drizzled on top but this place levels up as each French fry taste infused with truffle.
The chicken and burger were at a tie for me both bursting with flavor and really great portions
If you’re a fan girl foodie like me check them out

It was huge surprise dinner for my 30th birthday. My mom told me about this place earlier when she told me about painting of my comic book idol Stan Lee. It was cool. The dishes were very tasty and they have my favorite drink too. Our waiter was very kind. Friendly staff.

I had an amazing time, I would absolutely come here again. We were about 15 min late because of traffic and usually staff have an attitude when I call to let them know we’re running late but the staff here were so nice and told us not to worry. I took a while to order off the menu but our waitress (very sweet Ukrainian woman, can’t remember her name) was very professional and didn’t rush me at all, I felt that was important. The food was excellent, my chicken was a little too salty but still delicious. Our meal collectively came out to $200 but it was worth every penny. The wonderful manager with the short blonde hair made sure we were fine before we left. The food was delicious, service, staff, and atmosphere was very welcoming, comforting and great overall. I will DEFINITELY be returning here :)

Lets thank and let tip these Frontline restaurant workers who are serving clients so they can have a great time. What a spectacular spot. The cocktails are pretty indescribable. Very nice staff and the manager is on it!!! Im coming back every week to drink their in-fashion which is a version of their old-fashioned.

Tonight was my first time @ this DTLA location, however I have been to about 4 other locations scattered around this and the East coast, and it was just as good as the others that I have been to. It’s a bit more casual than other steakhouses (in general most chains are more casual) so you will see more sneakers, t-shirts, and baseball hats than some other fine dining steakhouses, but also prices are a bit more reasonable in comparison so it’s to be expected. A good rule of thumb is anywhere that has salt and pepper on the table is a more casual setting. Our server Paulina was very polite and did a great job the entire meal.
However I had to send a steak back to the kitchen for the 3rd time in my life tonight (and I dine out 2x week every week). I ordered the Filet Mignon medium temp and it came out jiggly soft, which I know means undercooked, and sure enough when I cut into it it was almost rare. They rushed it back and it came back out sliced so it just took away from that experience a lot. When it did arrive the steak was good, but not great, not charred and more buttery vs seasoned than I prefer. Also there was no comp at all to make up for the mistake of the kitchen/expediter.
We also ordered the jumbo lump crab cocktail which was very nice probably my favorite part, the lobster bisque and the French onion soup which were also nice, and the wedge salad which was not a hit at the table due to the wrong lettuce to toppings ratio (tons of lettuce but little else) but in comparison to other locations close by like Nick + Stef’s, LA Prime, and Flemings there are better, and definitely fancier, steakhouses to choose instead considering this is expensive as well. This would be good for a first date perhaps, but would not be ideal for a first year anniversary if she’s discerning. The bar area is really great though so a meal with friends or even a casual business meal would be more appropriate. Overall I would try again but each time I have been to a Capital Grille it’s been a 4/5 experience so that’s what I’ve come to expect at these locations: a really good meal just not great.

Spend our wedding anniversary here and it was AMAZING!
They catered to us and our Waiter was such a gentleman he knew the menu so well.
We enjoyed the Ribeye, Lobster Mac N Cheese, Mashed potatoes, and some King Crab.
Deserts are all delicious!
