Dined in with a party of 4 and was charged a mandatory 20% service fee. Then, they had the audacity to try and charge us for tip on the credit card receipt. At no point did the server inform us there would be a mandatory service fee. This would have been less upsetting had the food or service been exceptional; they were both mediocre.
For the server/restaurant owner: If you are going to charge customers a mandatory service fee, please be absolutely transparent about it - otherwise it is a hidden fee.
Solid neighborhood restaurant with home-style classics like grilled salmon, chicken pot pie, tomato soup, and a reasonably priced drinks menu. Friendly and attentive service, just lacked a little atmosphere (but to be fair this was a Tuesday evening)

Kitchen never fails to impress. Great food, fine wines, excellent service, an affordable evening out in a relaxed environment inside or outside. I started going there some years back and it's still high quality dining with impressive menu, well prepared food at affordable prices. Yes I said that twice because it is impressive.

Small and cute local spot in #LozFeliz neighborhood for a quick no-frills brunch.
The best things were the pear pancakes, friendly staff, and no waiting. Other food items pictured below were just okay, average breakfast food.
Overall: try it for yourself and let me know your take! #cheers ????

I'm glad this place is still around! Another local restaurant I highly recommend going to. The food taste is delicious and the quality is spot on, they do have outside dining on the sidewalk. Some of my favorites they don't make anymore because it's a limited menu at the moment. These are some of my choices I had recently, beef stroganoff, meatloaf, and The Belgian beef stew. All are great and you can't go wrong!

The food was really good, especially the calamari and the chicken sandwich. However, they did spell Caesar salad wrong on the menu which honestly isn't a big issue because sometimes I spell stuff wrong too.

I've been to The Kitchen a couple of times for brunch and it's always a great dining experience each time. Food is awesome, portions are generous, and prices are reasonable. Service is always friendly and attentive too.
Everything on the breakfast/brunch menu is good but my favorites are the donut holes and pear pancakes! The donut holes definitely hit the spot! The pancakes (comes with bacon!!) may be a bit too sweet for some but I have a sweet tooth sooo...If you're not into sweet stuff, try the kitchen scramble or the breakfast sandwich. Both are really excellent but the breakfast potatoes that come with it are just average. Coffee is refillable, by the way- and they constantly come around to fill it up!
I've never had to wait long for a table although it's always packed during my visits. I wouldn't mind waiting though cause I love having breakfast here! Parking is easy. They have their own lot at the back of the restaurant and you can also park at the residential area, along Commonwealth.
*I've never had dinner here so this review is just for brunch! Will update once I get to try their dinner menu!

Very good brunch! Definitely worth it.
Went back again for a late lunch/early dinner.
Ordered beef stew and turkey burger. Great tasting food and amazing service. Server was very sweet.

The Kitchen is Tasty! I’ve gone for brunch a couple times and really enjoyed my meal on both occasions. It’s a low key spot with indoor and outdoor seating. They serve generous portions. The French Toast Baguette is so good!
