Cozy and warm as if you were dining at someone's house and with food to match. Ordered the palmero mezcal which was made to perfection served with a rim of tajin. For starters the chips and salsa with guacamole was more than generous and delicious. As for the mains, I'd highly reccommend the Chicken Mole, it's as if someone's grandma had been cooking and made it. Our server Jorge was attentive and gave his honest opinion to make our dining experince worthwhile. Can't wait to come back to check out happy hour!
Once again, I agree with the other post. The host that seated us was extremely rude. He made a rude comment to my husband and actually accused me of touching him as I pointed to his shirt. The food was good, but his vibe pretty much ruined the evening.
On the other hand, our waitress was very nice.
But I will not return.

The host at the door was incredibly rude. We asked a few times if we could get a table and how long the wait was. He said “when one opens up” rolling his eyes and with an attitude. Then he just took off we didn’t even have a chance to write our names down or anything. Any other bar will politely give you an estimated time or simply say they’re not sure. Do better.

Like mescal and mole? Here's your place! Friendly service, great food, and I love the hibiscus punch mescal drink. I tried the Saturday seafood stew special and loved it. I am usually not a fan of calamari because it can get tough, but it was great in the stew. I like their chips, salsa, and guacamole.
Pro tip: get your own water.

Great margaritas (we tried both the reposado margarita and the mezcal margarita), and I had the Thursday special beef, which was also fantastic! Fun, relaxed environment with very sunny patio. It was a great night!

Fire Oaxaca style Mexican with amazing mezcal and tequila. One of the best happy hours in SD. Must visit.

We went for a Sunday lunch. The portions are incredibly small, you pay for chips and salsa. The menu is small, you order under the tacos section and 1 taco is served to you. The food was good but not worth the money. You even have to get up for your water. Another shortfall is the establishment doesn’t have a phone, how does a restaurant not have a phone? It was good but I will probably not be going there in the future.

Have been wanting to try this place and so glad I finally did! Came for a few drinks and loved the vibe. I sampled some Mezcal which was really tasty and the bartender who served me was super helpful in navigating my choice. I’m definitely coming back to try some food as the tacos looked amazing. Great date spot or place to just chill and enjoy some nice drinks.

Best mezcal margarita and carnitas I've ever had. Places like this make me want to move to San Diego. They also have an amazing selection of mezcals and offer tastings. Could've spent all afternoon here.
