First time here, excellent breakfast burrito. Most tasty fluffy eggs I've ever had from a Mexican restaurant.
Just to clarify some things I read in some other reviews. This place is not cash only, they do accept cards. And there is no salsa bar, however their red and green salsa are better than most Mexican restaurants in the area.
Looking forward to going back and trying more!
Had the #13 Carnitas Plate. Food was great. Cool little spot in University Heights. Seating is limited, but timed things perfectly and got a seat outside. Parking is on the street only, be prepared to parallel park.

Had fish tacos and fries supreme. Fish tacos were pretty dry and bland. They need some work.
But the fries supreme were the best i have had in my life. Rich and delicious cheese sauce, nice beans, tender and delicious meat, with plenty of salsa. Even better than taco stand.

Best chicken burrito in San Diego is the El Zarape burrito - big claim to make but this juicy chicken + pasilla peppers + creamy cheese PLUS the amazing red sauce is my go-to stop every time I visit SD. Love love love (also the House burrito with chicken+mole is amazing! Green sauce is great too!)

I’m torn because while the salsa and some items are really great here, it’s also disappointed me quite a few times—generally hit and miss but I’d say there are some items that are great. Maybe if they narrowed down their menu they would have more budget/energy for the most popular items to make them better quality. I do enjoy the calamari burrito, burrito supreme with carnitas is really good and filling as heck for the price, and I have enjoyed their rolled tacos. Burritos can be really hit or miss and I’ve had some that have barely any filling, and all flour tortilla.

Been a few times, it’s decent, not the worst out here but just not as tasteful as I would’ve liked. Each time kinda had the same reaction, the scallops were really small on my burrito like dollar tree scallops. The burrito wasn’t picture but it wasn’t that good tbh.

My first time eating here. My boss raved about the food, and detoured off the 5 Fwy North back to Orange County just to get takeout for our ride back. I wasn't disappointed. I ordered a steak and shrimp burrito that was damn good. Fresh ingredients, tasty, and worth the price. I would detour again to eat here.

Excellent seafood entrees. The shrimp burritos and tacos are the best! The prices and portions are fair. The best deal in San Diego for quality, taste, and service. Update: Tried the adobado taco. It was very good, so we'll add it to our faves. Prices have increased again, but quality remains the same. Update: Prices have increased again!

This place used to be good. It's gone downhill. The burritos are so skimpy & small. Hardly any guacamole on them & more tortilla than meat. I paid $30! I should have went to Food4Less, bought the carnitas meat, prepared it with all the ingredients & it would have been plenty & tasted better for $30. Sad. I won't be going back. Ever.

I used to live 5 blocks from this place. So its offerings were a weekly staple to my diet. The California grilled chicken burrito is my “go to comfort food”. Skip the single plastic utensils and take-out bag (they have paper bags, too). If you like spicy, be sure and get the smoky red chipotle (?) hot sauce.
The shrimp or fish tacos are delicious and well-priced to have several.
Seating is limited, but nearby Trolley Barn Park makes a decent picnic spot. My food orders have always been ready in 10 minutes or less.
