The Kettner Exchange was a new experience for me. For a set price they bring out a variety of dishes for you to try. Each is a smallish serving, but enough for everyone to get something good from it. I didn’t know what to expect, but that’s when the unexpected surprises you. I had a good time, has some good food and plan to go back.
Ambiance and decor are fantastic. Menu changes daily. Local beer selection is top notch, as are the hand crafted cocktails. Food is amazing. Shishito peppers, pork belly boa buns, Sonoma lamb Szechuan noodles, and spicy shrimp were delicious. I can’t wait to go back.

We went here for dinner and ordered about 12 different small plates for four people to share. Everything was really well presented and absolutely delicious. The portions are extremely small so be prepared for that. My favorite was the pork belly bao bun tacos and fried Caesar salad.

This place is great. The dishes are meant to be shared, but are not super big. Three of us split six plates and we had plenty of food. The duck meatball was excellent, as was the Szechuan lamb noodles. The decor was also very nice. We will definitely come back.
And we did 3 months later! It did not disappoint. Had many of the same dishes and tried a few new ones. Everything we've eaten was great.

Wow. Forget coming on up, San Diego is already here and leading the way! Was super impressed with this restaurant. A lot of culinary innovation and some incredible flavors. Highly recommend. My only wish was that I had more friends here so that I could try more dishes!

Beautiful decor, lighting , and music. Amazing food. Duck Meatball was the best. We went on a Sunday night. Timing of food delivery was not good. Pork chop came out before pasta. Drinks are overpriced. Service was adequate but we had to ask for a couple of items twice. Table clearance was excellent. Molten chocolate cake for dessert is a must!

Had a fun Sunday night here. It’s a great atmosphere for good drinks and small plates. A good place for groups. They rotate their menu, but my favorite items are the spicy tuna crispy rice and the pig mac bao. The rooftop is definitely the spot to be.
Service was excellent and attentive. He recommended a great shooter for our table.
It can get busy, so I would recommend grabbing a reservation to ensure you can get in!
Can’t wait to go back.

Love the Sharable plates menu and restaurant location and environment. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu that's printed daily and made wonderful suggestions for our party. The desserts were awesome too!

Can I give them 6 stars???! When is Chef Brian getting his well deserved Michelin star?! I have eaten at Michelin star restaurants in the US and honestly, I still come back to Kettner and tell myself nah, I’ll spend this money on Kettner instead ????
Kettner Exchange is my fav place to hit in San Diego. Every time a friend visits san diego, I take them here!
Everything they have on their menu is amazing. You cannot go wrong with Spicy shrimp, mushroom tantan, their sonoma lamb noodles, frog legs and their duck meatball. Their Budino is my fav dessert till date. I have basically tried everything on their menu and have visited them over 10 times - Oops guilty ????????
