Nice, quiet and peaceful. Great place to be with your date us close to downtown san diego
Prime rib was nicely seasoned and tender. The steak frites was perfectly cooked. Cocktails were balanced and not too sweet. Service was attentive and friendly. I'm coming back for the Valentine's day dinner, the menu sounds great and it's an awesome deal !

Excellent services. American breakfast were great on both days. Fruit is freshly cut. Hashbrowns were great

Breakfast is pretty decent! Dinner was alright too, but nothing overly special. The service however is where this place shines. Manny, thank you for being such an awesome guy! You are not only good at your job, but you have a good sense of humour, and are very personable. ????????

French dip comes on Texas Toast? Had mine made on french bread like it's suppose to be. Bread was over toasted, the sandwich itself was extremely greasy, meat thickly cut and tough, onions under cooked and au jus was totally tasteless. French fries also greasy and unseasoned.
$9 for a well bourbon is outrageous.
Service was OK and bad at same time, no problem offering to redo sandwich due to under cooked onions.
Yet brought my check without checking if I was even done or ready for it.

Waited for my food for over an hour and a half while those that had their order taken with 20 minutes of me were already being served. I understand that it's new years eve and there was a large group but what bothered me the most was when the waitress flat out lied to me saying that the wait was because the kitchen was backed up due to the crowd so it'll be a while. Just to reiterate, people that had just came in were already being surved and she was asking what we ordered when she first took it. She clearly forgot about us or didn't take it to the cook. There was more to this story but screw this place. Worst idea to have a date here.

We stopped in here during our WhoCon convention which was held at the Handerly Hotel. This hotel is in the Hotel Circle area of San Diego. It is a nice hotel and offers a lot of room for conventions, but this review is not about the Handerly Hotel. It is about one of the restaurants within the hotel called Postcards American Bistro.
This restaurant is one of three within the hotel as the other one is seasonal and the other is seemingly only used for events. So, anyways, we stopped in here for a lunch during a convention and to kill some time before a panel. The service here was quick and responsive and the food was tasty.
We were seated at a table and right away were got water and I requested some iced tea with lemon while my girlfriend had water. For food, I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and my girlfriend had a turkey club sandwich. The Caesar salad was well dressed and quite a large helping. It was terrific and the amount of chicken within the salad was overwhelming and made sure I didn't forget it was a chicken caesar salad. My girlfriend's turkey club sandwich it was about two sandwiches put together and served with fries. She loved the sandwich. The helpings at this restaurant were huge and worth it.
I would recommend going to this place to get some big helpings and some decent food.

I have enjoyed four "American breakfasts" this week at the Handlery's Postcards Bistro; they have each been excellent. I value consistency of quality ingredients, good taste, attractive plating, and efficient and suitably attentive service. Each morning I also had special additional requests which they fulfilled without a ruffle. Postcards hit top marks each morning, whether the guest load was busy or slow. Evaluating from my breakfast experiences this week Postcards is well managed, well staffed, and provides good benefit to their guests.

A nice little bar off the lobby in the Handlery Hotel. They have Happy Hour from 5 to 7 evenings, with reasonably priced well drinks and discounted appetizers. I usually have a vodka martini or with soda water so "well" vodka often isn't very good. I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted my vodka drink (well), it was not unpleasant at all. The staff here is very friendly. We tried appetizers (sampler and bbq chicken flatbread) and they were tasty and enough for 2 of us. We've been here a couple of nights during our stay and are very pleased.

Typically empty in the restaurant. But the server was amazing. The food is pretty good, could use a little more seasoning. But not bad for a restaurant in a hotel. And the price was good.
