Fun restaurant. I imagine evening is when this place really comes "alive." The colored strings of overhead lights... all the fun wooden plaques... every view is entertaining.
Server was great! I ordered Ceasars salad and a side of beans and rice. A bit salty for my midday taste buds, but I also wasn't hungry - tried going light. I would guess if you're having margaritas or tequila, the taste is spot on ????
Was delicious! I don't remember the name of what I got, but it was a seafood and vegetable soup, I think in a lobster broth. The soup had onions, peppers, celery and I think I few others for veggies. As for the seafood it was grab legs, octopus, shrimp and something else too. But was delicious! And a large serving! I couldn't finish it all, and I eat a lot! The dish also came with warm corn tortillas, fresh chopped red onions, fresh chopped cilantro, and a sauce on the side!
My partner got a dish that was lobster stuffed into garlic bread which was also very delicious! The dish came with fries, which were good but ended up mostly being left. Not because they weren't tasty but because we cared about them less than everything else we ordered. They were good to dip in the soup broth.
There were chips and salsa that came as we waited for our food. The salsa was really good and looked fresh! I could have eaten so much more of the salsa! The chips had some sort of seasoning on them and were good too. My only problem with the chips is they are a bit thicker. I personally prefer thinner, almost fragile chips with my salsa. But I know that isn't everyone's preference so it doesn't bother me. They were still good! I just have other preferences for chips.
Since we visited on a Sunday, their drink special was a Sunday Sangria! It was delightful! It came with an orange slice and cherry.
There was a person who went around to a couple tables asking to take pictures for post cards. It was nothing I've ever experienced before but since we were on vacation I obliged. I am not sure if that is something that happens all the time there since I'm not local, but it didn't bother me.
It was a great experience and I enjoyed all the food we got. The service was good too and timely. We had no problem with the service at all. Our server was kind and got our order right.
I guess I only got a picture of the sangria!
I would definitely visit again if I were closer and I wish I could keep on eating the food!

We just happened upon this place, and it was happy hour. We both enjoyed our mango and raspberry margaritas.
Tried the mussels, soft shell crab taco and then did the chicken and steak street tacos.
Everything was so good. We would come back for all of it again!
The waitress was incredibly nice.
Also had the dog with so they do have dog friendly seating areas and we weren't out in the elements away from everything either :-)

I used to love eating here any time I visited San Diego but last night when I went it wasn't so great. The service wasn't good, the servers were all over the place and kept trying to give our table someone else's food, our waitress hardly checked on us and kept forgetting what we asked for. I've eaten here lots of times and usually it's super busy, last night wasn't busy at all though, we got seated right away, no wait and there was hardly anyone there. The food came out cold and with the sea food bucket being worth $75, that was really disappointing. Also, since covid happened, they got rid of the salsa bar that used to be free but now they have it on the menu and they're charging customers for it, as if the food prices weren't already pricey as it is....
Every other time I've eaten here was before covid and they were great experiences along with delicious food. I don't know what happened... I'm hoping it was just a fluke because this was one of my favorite places in Old Town.

I've come to this place a few times now and I feel like it's got a ton of potential.. but has yet to really "wow" me.. The service good, the live music was great, however, the food is just not quite worth the asking price in my most sincere opinion.
We ordered some tacos, salad and lobster corn chowder soup, 7 seas soup and a lobster seafood skillet melt. All tasted OK but was priced around $16-$24. The chips, salsa and guacamole was on point and worth getting. The drinks are also good.. Overall, it's an entertaining place to go hangout for some drinks and starters but it may not satisfy your appetite if you're looking for some quality dining.
I'll probably still stop in for some light items and drinks though! ????????

We have eaten at 5 different Rockin Baja locations over the years and this one is by far the biggest. Our waiter was nice and attentive. Our food was delicious. We had lobster tacos, flash fried lobster tails, shrimp, crab and of course rice and black beans..only the tacos are pictured because this was the first time tasting those. The ambiance was nice with a waterfall and the sounds of birds. The food was a 5 out of 5. The reason why I gave them a 4 is because they allowed dogs to dine in the restaurant. Dogs shake and their fur flies, I don't want them where I eat.

Was hungry and decided to check this place out. I ordered the Fajitas Fantastico. Everything was tasty. One of the best guacamole I ever had. The drink I had was a Premium Margarita, Purple Cadillac Rita. I would come back here again and I recommend it. Took about 10 minutes for the food to come out which is pretty fast to me. There's also a guy that takes pictures of you and everyone at the table. The post card is free but you have to pay for the other photos.

Great food, great staff, and great prices. I love this place and look forward to going again. Definitely recommend it!
I had the Taste of Baja Bucket. It was more than I could eat, but I did taste everything. It is so good! And the tortillas alone are worth going for.

This place is a experience. Lots of choices for drinks and food. Service is fast and friendly.
Enjoyed my food very much. Ordered the Big Ol Bucket , which comes with 4 lobsters tails, shrimp, 2 cobs of corn, skirt steak, and chicken. The best part other than the seafood was our appetizer the Queso Fundido, comes with fresh tortillas.

On a very busy Saturday night with our large group, we were provided excellent service by the waitstaff. I really enjoyed the bowl of seafood chowder and bucket of lobster, shrimp, and crab legs. Terrific selection of local draft beers also! Would definitely recommend trying this restaurant!
