This place has been on my to-go list for a while. Having finally came down here, I can confidently say that this is one of the best fried chicken spots in San Diego.
Ordered Firebird, the most popular item on the menu, and it did not disappoint! Any place that picks chicken thighs as their base for the burger means REAL business.
The chicken is marinated full of flavor, fried to perfectly crisp, and super tender and juicy. It is then tossed in hot sauce and served with crunchy onions and on a potato bun.
The bun could see a bit more work as it is not as fluffy and light as a potato bun could be, but the thigh alone makes it a five-star burger worthy of trying out.
Will absolutely come back to devour more of this juicy chicken and other menu items.
Second crack shack we visited in a week! We went to their other location earlier in the week and had to come try this location as well! The food was amazing! Parking was a nightmare so if that's a concern either plan to park in a garage or go to the other location as they have a parking lot. Either way after finding parking, we really enjoyed the food. Good space available for the kids to run around!

I wanted to see if this place was worth the hype and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere here is very welcoming and I loved the photo ops. My fiancé and I ordered the Firebird and it was absolutely amazing. The chicken was so tender and juicy with a nice kick to it. If you’re looking for a fantastic chicken sandwich I highly recommend this place. I will definitely come back again.

I ordered The firebird sandwich: super crispy chicken with a nice kick to it. Also the set up is just awesome. You order you and find a seat yourself. They have paper towels on the table. nonalcoholic drinks and all the sauces (which are really really good! Highly recommend the pineapple mustard) are self serve. They also have a nice long sink for you to wash your hands! 10/10 would recommend

Another San Diego staple that has my 3 most important things; great food, great service, and great atmosphere! This is a totally cool place to hang out for all ages AND there’s a bar. Besides the absolutely delicious food, my favorite part was when I asked the cashier for a bigger cup for my water and she trusted me. I was really happy that she trusted me because I have no interest in soft drinks and did not want to have to get up constantly to fill my small water cup. Both morning and night this place is definitely a hit and I highly recommend it.

Laid back, simply really good chicken dishes. Hand cut fries are extremely good. Lots of sauces to add to chicken if desired. Friendly, helpful, cooperative staff. Chicken sand subbing out the thigh for a breast was so good. Gonna ask for extra pickles next time. Reasonably priced.

Solid food, solid price.
Awesome location located just a few blocks outside of little Italy. Friendly service and a bunch of fried and grilled chicken options that will leave you satisfied!

Fantastic chicken sandwich! This is one of my favorite spots in Little Italy. The fries are some of my favorite - anywhere! The fry sauces are unique, which I love (but friends I’ve taken here that are pickier eaters didn’t love them). It is a bit pricey but what do you expect? I personally do not recommend the milkshake.

Unbelievably good food. The fried chicken is on point; crispy, juicy tender and not greasy. The fries are incredible, a regular was large enough for three of us but we could have easily eaten a large they were so good. The anti salad was delicious with smoked chicken, quinoa, greens and a hard-boiled egg. We are definitely coming back.

I had the equivalent of the chicken burger with homemade fries. They also offer some creative sauces to go with your meal.
The take out order was generous in proportion. While I did enjoy it, I don't think I would go back because I didn't find the meal to stand out one way or the other. It's definitely a place with a lot of personality and a very friendly and professional staff. In the end, it filled me up but settled a little heavy on my stomach.
