Whenever you’re in mood for huge cheesy burgers, The Melt is the place to go. While they are known for their scrumptious cheesy burgers they have a wide range of other options to choose from. We tried Sweet potato fries, Caesar salad, Mac and Cheese, Impossible melt burger and Three cheese classic. Still drooling over all the cheesy fiesta I ate. Everything was freshly prepared and tasted really delicious. In shakes we had Double chocolate shake, Cookie and cream shake and Strawberry shake.
Ordered from Door Dash and was impressed that everything was correct and hot. The soup was in such a tight lipped container, I had trouble opening it. I'm not complaining; I'd rather it stay in the container than spill out in the bag. The tomato soup was thick and creamy, missing something but flavor was okay. Sweet potato fries were bomb. Salted, crispy on the outside tender on the inside.
Definitely recommend getting the Patty melt with melt spice. Soooo juicy and packed with flavor. Good balance of cheese and caramelized onions with a perfectly cooked patty. I was actually disappointed when it was gone.

I realize cheese is the thing here, but I ordered the mission burger with no cheese. It was delightful. The burger itself was very tasty; it's actually a shame that they normally would cover it up with cheese. The sandwich was dressed with crunchy jalapenos and sliced avocado, highlighted with a sweet, spicy ketchup. The combination of flavors was fantastic. All of the ingredients were very fresh. The only drawback was that the lettuce was soggy from the heat of the burger patty. The fries were decent and the deli sized dill pickle was very good. The menu features an assortment of cheese based sandwiches including cheese steak and dishes like mac-n-cheese. Service was fast.

My sandwich was nothing short of amazing! It was very filling and delicious! Best of all, the sodas are local made. 10/10 definitely recommend! Photo is Mac Daddy with chedder cheese bacon ranch fries. Cola is black cherry.

The mac and cheese was good, but not the best I ever had. Their lemonade is really delicious, but the iced tea was warm unfortunately. There are a lot of tables, indoor as well as outside the restaurant.

What a cool and open vibe restaurant. Limited menu. I ordered fries and a lemonade on a very hot day. I observed the mac & cheese and burger on other plates and the customers commented quite favorably. I appreciate the fries were hot and well seasoned. Not salty. Drinks and food is near organic but no added nada unnatural ingredients. Even the fountain drinks are health friendly. The best feature is that the dining tables are not on top of another, upstairs eating option and totally ADA, stroller or wheelchair compliant.
I sat at the countertop so I could people watch. Located in the heart of fifth avenue, there is no parking. Expect to walk. Since San Diego has a plethora of hamburger choices, I wouldn't make an out of the way trip. But I would if I'm downtown and in burger mode.

The service was great. I had the BBQ burger and garlic fries. The sweet potato fries are good as well. It was larger than a burger you would get from a typical fast food chain. Very good. I would definitely recommend this place.

The melt is a casual place that focuses on grilled cheeses and other melted hot sandwiches. I actually had the spicy mission chicken sandwich, which was tender and tasty. They also have tomato soup, of course. Had a bite of the patty melt, which also was good. This place is worth checking out.

We really enjoyed our food here. It was absolutely delicious! Gluten free potato buns made my burger much more enjoyable than a lettuce wrap. We both had the spicy mission melt burger and garlic parm fries. So glad we gave this place a try!
