Came here before a show at Thalia Hall. Skewers were great, big portions and served uniquely on a stand. Cowboy beans that came with the dish could have been a meal alone. Glad we were sat back by the kitchen as the music was very loud in front.
I have mixed feelings about this place. We went for my birthday and got seated right away didn’t get menus until much later. We tried to get their attention but it took about 20+ min to get served. It was quite busy during dinner time though. The food and birthday cake were delicious ???? The Arrachera is highly recommended!
What wasn’t so delicious was the bill. They had added a BYOB surcharge of $10 which wasn’t written. YES, they don’t serve alcohol. What is a Mexican restaurant without a margarita? Points lost! Also $18 for birthday cake which is unusual when it’s someone’s birthday. And as many restaurants are doing now is immediately adding the gratuity fee for under 6 people ???? Did I mention it’s CASH ONLY? Maybe I’ve been out of the country too long but all these hidden charges and surprises were shocking. I had to dispute this with one of the waiters and he removed 1 fee.
I recommend that if you really need to go to this place, to be attentive with hidden fees and not get robbed.

I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The arrachera by the kilo was out of this world. Deliciously cooked. The flour tortillas were perfect. There is a 2hr limit once seated at your table but the food comes out very fast. It is also cash only so be prepared. I will definitely be returning whenever I am in the area. A new favorite.

Driving around we found this gem in a quaint neighborhood in Chicago. We went around breakfast time and it was pretty full. There was a small patio area that was beautifully designed. The interior had tables lined all the way down the restaurant. The tables are tall and the kitchen area is open and you can smell the fresh foods being cooked. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have found in any restaurant! They had this elegant copper basin sinks, colorful.tiled mirror and a nice lemon scent filled the air. As we were seated, we were presented with an egg and potato taco, which was so good. We ordered the carne asada tacos, sabino tacos, menudo and a bowl of guacamole mexicana. The meats in the tacos were so tender they melted in your mouth. The tacos were freshly made and tasted amazing. The sabino tacos had the sauteed onions and peppers, perfectly roasted and the flavors exploded in your mouth. A large menudo can feed about 2 people and it was so tasty, i would have liked more hominy in it but it was still flavorful. We were also presented with a platter that had grilled queso, tomatoes, onions and a tomato based sauce that brought all the ingredients together like a symphony. When we received the bill, I was floored at how inexpensive it was. 3 of us ate for under $70 and we had lots of extra food for later. When visiting Chicago in the future, i will make this a must stop. I can't forget our amazing waiter, we was so tentative, friendly and courteous.

Awesome ambience and it gets very crowded so try and get there early because the food is worth it. The prices are reasonable and the music is on point.

Was pretty busy when we came in, was seated right away. Our server was great. The arrachera was flavorful and cooked just right. The shrimp skewers were huge. Portions was plentiful for two. It is cash only. Great place for a date night

Can't miss with anything on the menu. Highly recommended. Cash only. BYOB. They do not have alcohol on the menu, but have no corkage fee. Pro tip- There is a small liquor store across the street.

I ordered arrachera for 2 , it came with grilled onions , Jalapeños, and a small serving of frijoles charros for each. I also ordered queso Panela fundido for this dish and it was a perfect match. I really enjoyed them together. When you get there they serve you chips and salsa they also give you a taco to snack on while you wait and when my food got to the table they also brought me a side of nopales. The service was excellent and I will definitely be returning to try other dishes. I also noticed its a BYOB establishment so if you must have a cold one don't forget to take it along.

We had the steak with cebollitas and fish tacos. The steak had a good flavor and was cooked well, however the texture was inconsistent. A few bites were tender but most bites were tough and we were chewing on the gristle like a cow. The fish tacos’ flavors were very good, but I think for this type of restaurant in the middle of Pilsen, the tacos should’ve come with rice and beans, which they didn’t. The chips and salsa were really good, maybe the best chips and salsa I’ve ever eaten at a Mexican restaurant. Came here for lunch on a Saturday and service was attentive and food came out fast.
