Best mezcal margaritas in Chicago. Try mango, tamarindo and pepino. The burger is 10/10. The tacos are 10/10, I recommend Asada, Fish and Pollo Adobado. I had their stuffed pineapple once and it was also good.
I don't really write reviews, but this restaurant has really outdid themselves on food and service. I had the seviche de pescado and my boyfriend had the tampiqueña. Excellent choices and outstanding taste. ???? ????

In terms of food, it is just OK. The octopus is a treat unto itself, but the tacos are just OK. Same for the salsa and chips. Service is good.

This spot is a Pilsen gem! Went in on a Sunday and they were serving regular lunch. We were seated right away and it wasn’t too busy around 1pm. I tried a trio of taquitos which are mini tacos - shrimp, ribeye and Al pastor. We also tried the chorizo quest fundido which was tasty. I didn’t enjoy the peppers on top but just removed them and kept smashing ????. The star of the show was the coconut margarita. PERFECTO!! Overall, everything was delicious. I also loved seeing a woman cook in the back. Can’t wait to go back!

What a great experience! Shoutout to the bartenders who had such a positive attitude and amazing skills prepping those drinks! From customer service to quality , everything was there. They have a DJ in house and the mixes were so much fun! Great spot to grab some drinks and maybe dance a little.

My wife and I made our debut at this trendy place for a Friday night dinner after reading some reviews and checking out their online profile.
As we walked up to the restaurant, we were greeted by a hostess that was warm an welcoming. She promptly escorted us to our table and we immediately noticed the vibe and the music in the place. It was upbeat and had a magnetic appeal.
We started with a couple drinks as I ordered the el churrito and an horchata for my wife. The drinks were very good.
For dinner, I had the cemitas de carne asada and shrimp empanadas. My wife had a huaraches de rajas de queso and an elote Mexicano. The food was all delicious and we had a great time overall. We will be back to try more menu items.

Weekend experience. Dine in they were definitely busy for dinner, wait time 45minutes approximately, but definitely worth the wait. Once we received dinner and drinks we were good. Dj plays which is a plus, but you might end up standing if you show up after 9pm, gets crowded with limited seat availability.

The vibes here on a Saturday evening/night were on point! The bar tenders were super cool, chatty, funny, and gave us out-of-towners some good recs. They'll show all the sports the guests want to see on their TVs. The drink menu was fire; the food that was coming out all looked incredible, though we didn't have any (definitely will next time). Fun times await at La Mejikana! Locals know this place is a gem and it gets busy!

Loved La Mejikana! Can’t believe it took me so long to try this place. I will say the music and the outdoor patio was great for a Sunday lunch. The micheladas were sooo good, especially the mango habanero flavor! The food was pretty good too but my al pastor cemita was a little on the salty side. I think I’d try something different next time. Otherwise, the tacos and the queso fundido that we ordered we’re pretty good too! I’ll definitely be back!
