The service here is amazing. Our hostess, Raquel, went above and beyond. & our server, Alec, was so sweet and attentive.
For food we ordered the Al Pastor Taco (only available on Fridays & Saturdays), the Quesadilla, the Carne Asada and the Short Rib.
Not your typical Mexican restaurant! Very creative take on the branzino/bass (worth mentioning the sauces that they pair it with) and fall off the bone short ribs. Great beer selection too! Highly recommended. :)

This was my first time to Leña Brava and it did not disappoint. We ordered one of each food item on the happy hour menu. I don't have a specific recommendation because they were equally delicious. Additionally, we ordered the al pastor which is only available on Fridays and Saturdays. I highly recommend this dish, wow! For drinks, we had a daisy, smoked watermelon margarita, vienna lager, and a Mexico calling - all delicious. Staff friendly and prompt, we will back next time we are in Chicago!

Fantastic place for small plates and tacos with a focus on open flame grilling. Best Al Pastor I've had to date, and a staggering selection of Mezcal. Hats off to Carlos for being incredibly insightful and helpful, amazing experience all around.

Some of the best ceviche I can count on in the area. Make reservations early because now that it's gorgeous outside again it will be harder and harder to get a table. Delicious drinks and awesome food. The only thing that isn't my favorite is the enchiladas but everybody else I know loves it.

I ordered a chicken dinner with a jalapeño cream sauce. The chicken was cooked so freaking perfect. I didn't need the cream sauce! Dessert was yummy ???? Drinks were flowing and refreshing. Great place to eat.

Just amazed at this place! The wood fire oysters were fire!! The ceviche was also really good! The side of plantains were delicious but the cream felt too heavy and overpowering. Thanks for making my birthday special!!

Such a tasty and warm experience. The food is incredible (much love from that wood fired smell on half the dishes) and the service is top notch. Get the oysters and empañadas and life will be right. Special shout outs to Becki, Jeff, and Carlos who took great care of us.

The food was great, yet the service was a bit of a disappointment. When asking for additional information from the staff about a dish he said: the description of the food is self explanatory.
In my eyes this is a bad server since these people are supposed to know their work dishes. A bit disappointing from my side and very poor information from the type of restaurant. After requesting this, the server visits to the table diminished and provided more attention to other tables.
I had the short rib wish was fall of the bone and tender. Was not dry. Gf had the chicken and this was delicious and not dry as well. The char on the skin of the chicken was nice.
Hope next time I visit I get a better service from the wait staff.

We enjoyed several different mezcals that were recommended by the bar staff. For appetizers we tried the charred avocado and the charred queso fresco, both were excellent! The giant butterflied striped bass was very good. Really flavorful sauces but watch for the tiny bones. The plantains were lovely. We also tried the lobster roll and the pork shank. The lobster roll was wonderful. The pork shank was good but not as good as the rest of the things we tried. Overall everything was excellent and the service was really good. We arrived early and they let us wait at the bar for an outdoor table. Then they helped us move our drinks to the new table. We would highly recommend this place!
