Absolutely phenomenal meal. Walked in and immediately seated without a reservation. They just required us to show them a proof of vaccination which we are all for. Our server was absolutely phenomenal as well. True gem of the service industry. All of the food came out in quick succession and it was like nothing we had ever had before. As service industry myself, I can’t wait to tell everyone I know and bring more people. Thank you again for everything that you do!

Everything was perfect. can’t believe it took so long to come here. the broccolini was to die for. the shrimp was the best i’ve ever had. steak burrito was the best burrito i’ve ever had, and the birria ????????????????????i love this place!

Had the agua de jamaica and a huarache.
The huarache was bursting with flavor. It was so fresh tasting and had many layers. One of the best I‘ve ever had.
The jamaica was mild but refreshing. The pasta straw was the best I‘ve ever used. Didn‘t know it was pasta but felt good to know it was eco friendly.
Service was kind and informative. They helped me with my dietary allergies and provided a thorough description of the food which did its complexity justice.

By far the most mind blowingly flavorful food I’ve had in in Chicago. The quesobirria was so good that I was upset when it was over. The chicken thigh taco was gorgeous. Everything was simply bursting with flavor. The tres leches was the best I’ve ever had with a unique twist. The only miss was the duck (too salty) but I didn’t even mind because I was so happy and full from the other dishes.
The restaurant has a very cool casual vibe. I will be back for sure (we were told the menu changes frequently).

Great service and drinks! Our table ordered the enchiladas potosinas and repollo enmasado. We were excited about the take on classics but unfortunately we found the food to be way too salty.

Amazing spot for real Mexican food. They recommend family style (big plates everyone shares) and they are not wrong. The dishes are incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection with amazing flavors. The dining room is very quaint. The restaurant is packed so make sure to call ahead to secure a reservation. Highly recommended!

Neither a tex-mex/cali-mex nor a traditional taco place. This place presents an elevated and improvised version of traditional Mexican cuisine in a very mexican way. I can not give this place 5 star only because their menu is a little overpriced, other than that everything was perfect.

Everything about Mi Tocaya respects the history of Mexican cuisine while playing with the idea of how modern Mexican food should be eaten. All the food is presented spectacularly and is incredibly delicious but the real magic of Mi Tocaya is it's ability to provide such an upscale experience while still feeling like you're coming over for a home cooked meal. The moment you arrive you're treated like family while taken on what feels like a guided tour of a cultures edible legacy. I will be most certainly returning and hope you do too.
