Takito Kitchen Reviews

This place started out as a pretty solid concept with excellent food and drinks. Over the years the farm to table "locally sourced" menu has seemingly disappeared; and been replaced with a standard of poorly conceived, low food cost items. The crowd is young, loud and very drunk. Exactly what would be expected from a bottomless drink Mexican T.G.I. Friday's. With so many excellent restaurants in Chicago, not to mention fantastic classic Taquerias skip Takito to avoid disappointment and go to a independently owned (this place is owned by some brokerage group behind the curtain) restaurant. Decent place to get "Sorority Drunk" if you want low-quality that leads to bad decisions. Gotta love a Mexican restaurant with murals of white women...

The tacos were good and flavorful, but very small. For $10 for 2 tacos, I was surprised at how small they were.

I have a nut allergy and cheesecake has nuts in it, but that's not anywhere on the menu when you order online.

Thank you for dinner, everything was delicious! We especially enjoyed the barbacoa taco and the crispy fish taco. Loved the tomatillo pistachio salsa! Would definitely recommend this location.

Really fun brunch spot! Great food and all you can drink mimosas for only $15. Went on my birthday and had a blast with our server Alma. She gave me tequila hat and sombrero to celebrate!

Trendy, gimmicky wicker park restaurant. More time and thought went into the decorations than the menu. Ceviche? More like 5 shrimps on a MOUND of arugula and chipotle sauce ????Never had any ceviche like it and I hope I have anything close to it again. Don’t suggest if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food. Tacos were okay but miniature for being $10 for two. Save your money, nothing special. Drinks were way over priced for 1/2 a shot of tequila in a small glass with enough ice to make it a tequila water with in 10 minutes on a warm day. Such a scam. Very under whelming.

Great atmosphere, delicious food, convenient location - Great, intimate spot for first date, anniversary, or just bring in comfortable space - Price was right and outstanding value - We will be back - Next week over to Takito Street (Lincoln Park) then Bar Takito (Fulton Mkt.) for Cinco de Mayo.

Super chic cantina! Loved the vibes. Lots of shared plates options. Killer margaritas. Lychee one was fab. Queso fundido in fire. Shrimp taco is a must. Go!

We absolutely loved Takito's brunch! 15 dollar bottomless mimosas and amazing margaritas! We ordered the chilaquiles and breakfast tacos with added coffee braised beef. We will definitely be coming back for brunch and to see the great staff who helped us. Shout out to Aurelio, Ana and Sheila! You made brunch so much fun!

There's happy hour and the margs are on sale. The food is pretty yums as well. Totally worth it for margs on a patio...but I can be hot if your not under an umbrella. Staff is great. Service is quick. Esquites for sure...def get that as a snack.
