This place ain't been the same since the owner passed away. Way over priced, portions are noticeably smaller, and flavor ain't what it used to be here. The meat is actually dryer with new meat they use. I started coming here around 4 years ago. Sad to say, after 2 disappointing meals here I won't be coming back.
Very nice restaurant. The food is very good but the reason for my so so review is that the prices are a bit too high.
One item in particular, the brisket sandwich, the price on the menu on the wall is listed as $19.99 but my bill showed that the guy charged me $20.99 per sandwich (I bought 2) and when I mentioned it he said it was a mistake but he never tried to give me back the price difference and I wonder how many people they have overcharged.
And also the guy told me that they have an updated menu online but I never found it. I’m not going back to this place.

Used to great, brisket sandwich is overpriced. I understand that he changed the meat but honestly think it tasted better the old way and it had better prices. They give you a little cup of bbq sauce now. The brisket is a bit tougher now. 20.99 for just a sandwich that will leave you feeling hungry afterwards. Vote with your wallet, go somewhere else. The owner has gotten in over his head with these prices. I'll just make my own bbq or go to Moos craft bbq.

Went there recently. Just got a 1/2 pound of brisket. Or I should say I paid for a 1/2 pound of brisket and got something closer to .35 or .4 pounds at the very most. How do i know it was plenty light? I've eaten EXACTLY THIS at dozens of TX bbq joints and never had a "1/2 pound" serving this small.
The sauce is not very good. It just tastes like sweetened ketchup with some spices and chili added. Not good, but it would pass for an authentic TX sauce.
The $22 price tag for a light "1/2 pound of brisket" is quite outrageous too - get real. Over priced sides as well, wont be back.
On a positive note. The brisket was actually quite good also, and on par with some of the best I've had in TX - not that its difficult to smoke a high quality brisket. If you're a foreigner and only traveling to LA but have a craving for real American BBQ i would go here for a taste - it's far better than any other BBQ place i've had on the West Coast.

Today I went on a BBQ adventure! After reading about @rays_halal_texas_bbq_
for weeks, I finally made the drive to Huntington Park, hoping they wouldn't be sold out by the time I arrived. I ordered the Tahir smoked chicken "bowl" for myself and the Pitmaster Brisket sandwich for my little brother to go. I knew I had to sit on the patio and eat my food while it was still hot to get the full experience. OMG, everything was so delicious! I'm glad no one else was around because I was literally moaning with delight while I ate ???? The Tahir smoked chicken "bowl" included a half chicken, Ray's macaroni and cheese and Ray's BBQ rice. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tasty and tender. Probably the best BBQ chicken I have ever had ???????? The macaroni and cheese was yummy with a spicy little kick. Maybe green chile? The BBQ rice was so satisfying, with perfectly cooked tender chunks of beef throughout. And the bbq sauce (which came on the side). Y'all get getchu some halal Texas BBQ in Huntington Park! You will definitely enjoy it and have leftovers. They're open Wednesday--Sunday 10 a.m--3:00 p.m. or whenever they sell out of meat. #halal #halalfood #bbq

It was absolute torture having to smell my food on the way home, but well worth it. I am so happy to have a Halal BBQ spot in the neighborhood and I look forward to being a regular from now on. Do yourself a favor and check them out, it is well-worth the price.
Pictured are pieces from the Ultimate BBQ Bowl. The bowl and half a pound of brisket fed three people very well. The salad is my own (life is about balance..lol).

The food here was OUTSTANDING! My friend and I went on a slow day, so we didn't wait long for the food. He ordered the half-pound of Wagyu, I got the pulled pork BBQ sandwich.
Both were insanely good. Service was good, prices are reasonable considering the quality you're getting.
Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, were the sides. The Mac'n'Cheese and BBQ Beans with meat chunks were not good. Really bland. Not worth ordering. Def coming back for round 2 tho.

Great food. You can tell they really put the time and effort into making your food taste amazing. I had there famous burrito. It's enough to feed two hungry people or one starving person lol. Spoke to the owner he is a wonderful guy the whole staff is amazing. I highly recommend you stop by if you're in the area you wont regret it.
