Ukrainian mini market with Ukrainian goods. Borscht with meat, pea soup, herring under a fur coat, Russian salad, homemade confectionery. Everything is very tasty and cheap. I advise everyone to visit and try.
This bakery has been a stable in Ukrainian Village neighborhood for the past 60+ years. Recently I was informed of this bread they only make on Saturdays and Sundays. Don't know the name. But was told to ask for the bread that uses no yeast and is made only on weekends. I purchased the 2 pound loaf which costs $6.00. Hearty and delicious. Went at 9 a.m. Saturday and they were just beginning to slice the bread and package for purchase. My new go to for bread.

Not the same place I remember, their pastries have lost their magic. They all taste the same, their panpushok was almost empty. If you got a quarter spoon of filling you were very lucky. A huge disappointment to a previous great place.

Good selection of Ukrainian foods. Strange to see comments of people complaining no one speaks English. You don't go to a Mexican store complaining they don't speak English, not sure why it's different for a Ukrainian. Also, if you don't speak Ukrainian, how can you imagine that people are being rude? Remember to take into account cultural differences where it's normal in our culture not to smile 24/7. All ladies at the check out are always kind in my experience.
The owner is actually rude and has no manners though, even in Ukrainian.

I am French, and I recently moved from France to Chicago, in Ukrainian Village. I discovered this place while I was craving for a French breakfast : I bought the sweet buns, put some Milka chocolate in it, and it was so good!!
I love this place, it makes me feel like home, I feel familiar with the products. Plus it is not very expensive.
Really is my comfort place when I homesick.

Our favorite bakery in Chicago, we go almost every weekend just for fresh pastries. Love the paczki, blueberry and cherry-filled croissants, and strawberry and blueberry yogurt danishes. Rabbit stew is super savory, homemade, and comforting. Beware of the tiny bones. The cabbage and dill stew was absolutely divine - you need to try it!

My favorite store and bakery in the city. They have every Eastern European good imaginable, we always make a point to stop by to stock up the Ukrainian food essentials. The best part is their home-baked goods, they are as delicious as they were made back at home.

Large selection of true Ukrainian and Russian food. It is definitely authentic as many of the customers were speaking in russian and Ukrainian. The cake we purchased was amazing!!!
