I don’t know how I don’t like Art of Pizza on State Street. Their ingredients were extremely fresh that made me think “vegetables are delicious.” However, I’d highly recommend you choose your favorite meat, either sausage or pepperoni. For the most flavorful pizza for you tonight, I’d share an old saying, “World’s nothing better without pepperoni pizza.”
Probably one of the best pizzas I have ever had. The sauce is what it is all about here. Wasnt a huge fan of the crust, but I've yet to find one that was truly worth eating

Nice small pizzeria, the Chicago-style pizza is delicious

It was good. I dont get all the hype over deep dish, but as far as just wanting a slice, it was great. A little lacking on the toppings, but the sauce, crust, and cheese were very tasty

Good pizza and good cheesecake. It really doesn't get any better than this. Literally the only way it could have been better was to have another slice of each! Thanks for a great meal.

Onion, mushroom, and spinach pizza was loaded. Best pizza by far. Stuffed is actually stuffed.

Even the thin is fairly thick, but good. I had the Arts special and I was happy with my decision. Cost about $20 for the 12” and can feed 2 1/2 hungry people 3 reasonable people. I would like to try their slices and deep dish in the future

Don't be put off by the fact that this is a tiny little hole in the wall. This is one the very best pizzas in a pizza mad city. No grills on the atmosphere, it's designed more for carry out than for dine-inm but the pizza is so damn good.

Excellent deep dish/stuffed Chicago-style pizza. Visiting from out of town, had Lou Malnatti’s earlier in the week, which was not bad at all. But this was ideal Chicago-style pizza, couldn’t have asked for better. Great job!

Was very excited to try this one out after reading online reviews. Unfortunately it did not live up to the expectations. Tried the thin crust pepperoni pizza and it was... okay. Slice was oily and tasted bland. It was not terrible, but definitely not the best pizza around.

This place seems to be very popular with high school students. Nice place to have a slice of Chicago style deep dish pizza.

I by mistake ordered the thin crust pizza while in town but it was good! Very large portion when I got the smallest choice. We ordered in advance online to beat the wait time, which was good as they were busy.
It’s a small restaurant so it was pretty warm, so we took it home and it was warm as the walk was short.

HANDS DOWN THE BEST DEEP DISH I’VE EVER HAD!!! So I was visiting Chicago with a friend, just got out of yoga down the street, saw this place and went in. There was a line (a good sign!) for takeout. I just wanted to order a couple slices, didn’t want a whole pizza. They had slices available. Great! They carried different types of deep dish as well. I got one with veggies, my friend asked for a regular one. Yass okay now we’re rolling. I asked for some pepper and cheese packets, they obliged. When I got back to the air bnb and we began to eat, we looked at each other with tears in our eyes and cried. Literally the BEST pizza ever was in our hands, and now being stuffed in our faces. The sauce was tasty, the dough was crunchy but soft, the cheese melted in your mouth. Absolute perfection. I will NEVER forget this pizzeria, I dream about it, I want to marry it, I want to make little pizzarias with it. GO! Go now and try the pizza! Make it yours before you turn around and forget and never get to experience the life altering tomato cheese dough concoction.
Tip your server.

I don’t have a lot of experience with deep dish pizza but I certainly have eaten pizza across the US. This rival the best NY style pizza or any gourmet pizza out there!
The sauce is EXCELLENT, sweet and plentiful! The cheese is stringy and FULL with favors! The entire slide is just bursting with awesome, mouth watering, taste bud attacking aroma! And there are plenty to go around, each bite is full and just SOOOO satisfying!
Now to be honest, the cheesecake isn’t the best. It is still good, particularly after the hint of pizza taste still whirling around in my mouth, the sweet taste really pop! But are there better cheesecake out there? Yes plenty, but if you are just looking for something sweet to round out your night, this will do.

Spoiled my day and lunch. Pizza on a cardboard box. Base is so burnt and rest of the pizza got no taste. And turkey sub is so bland I feel like throwing up. See the picture. Had to throw this in garbage.

Definitely not the best place in Chicago, we ordered a couple of slices and also an Italian beef for dine in and they took 40 minutes to prepare the Italian, I’ve ordered some fries and they came after we finished eating our slices, they said that they only have a couple of fryers and fries take a while….
Never order fries or Italian beef, if you’re visiting Chicago go to Giordanos for a better quality pizza and also flavor.

It is my favorite Wholesome Chicago style Deep Dish pizzeria. A great neighborhood place if you are a no nonsense, anti-chain restaurant kind of foodie! Order your 10 inch Supreme (sausage, pepper, onion cheese) deep dish about 45 mins in advance, come sit down and relax, eat fresh pizza! Art of Pizza on State Street is a small whole in the wall place for both grabbing a slice to go or doing your Chicago deep dish experience dining in. I love how they put a lot fresh tomato sauce on top and the portions are so generous! 1 slice or 1.5 slice will make you full. The 10 inch pie comes with 6 slices.

Stopped here for their “2 slices 1 free” for about $7-10 with tax I forget the exact price. The restaurant is very clean, the staff is friendly and fast, and the food is really good especially for the price. While it’s not the typical “deep dish” pizza you think of it’s a nice lighter alternative. I would recommend visiting this place for a quick bite if you’re in the area.
