This is the best place for ramen in Uptown. Lovely location and excellent service.
It’s hard to find vegetarian ramen, and when you do find it, it’s often bland and boring. This place makes some phenomenal veggie ramen with tofu, and when ordered for delivery they separate the broth from ingredients so everything doesn’t get soggy in advance. I’ve also gotten a few wonderful vegetarian rolls from here. And they’re quick! When I am comfortable eating indoors again this will be my new sushi go-to.

My favorite is their Spicy roasted garlic miso ramen! Both their ramen and sushi is delicious, tastes fresh. Fast service, easy to call for takeout. Waiters are friendly. Definitely one of my favorite ramen places. There tuna salad (the appetizer, I forgot what the real name is) was also really good!!

A safe play when looking to grub. Incredibly fast and welcoming service. As you can see, solid proportions of fish within their sushi. Worth checking out. Nice atmosphere!

I made reservations for 6:30 PM for this Friday. I even confirmed my reservation that day around 5:15 PM. When we arrived at 6:26 PM, there were at least eight people in the cramped front desk area. Most were there for carry-out orders. When I finally got up to give my name, the hostess said they were very busy and it would be another 5-10 minutes. I understand restaurants are short staffed but I only saw two servers working and they were also handling the takeout orders. Dining room was full but no one was being attended to. Good for them that they have a thriving carryout business but you need to take care of the diners who are in the restaurant AND the people who have reservations. After waiting 20 minutes with no acknowledgement or update on when our table might be ready, we left.
This once again proves that Edgewater restaurants are not up to par with other restaurants in the city

Amazing Sushi. Attentive Friendly Staff, very cute quaint location but the experience is huge! And so is the flavor. Great Vegetarian/Vegan options. Low key surprised by this place. Parked next to it by chance but definitely not disappointed in anyway. ????????

Came here on a lark with a friend. It turned out to be the best sushi either of us have ever had. They were also super helpful making my dish gluten-free, which was awesome as well. Great place, I'd give six stars if I could.

Blowfish never disappoints. It's a lovely neighborhood sushi spot. Very small. They have alcohol but allow byob as well. Excellent service & food. I've never had anything bad here. Delicious poke, ramen & sushi. Super fresh. The bbq tuna with crispy rice app is a must!
I've gotten delivery but always enjoy the food much more when eating in, just FYI!

The service was good; the sushi wasn't all that great. The calamari was good though!

A cute little lowkey date spot. It is dark and small so it has a very intimate feel. For a starter we had the shrimp tempura roll and the firecracker roll. Both amazing but the firecracker roll was definitely the favorite between the two - worth the cost since it is a premium roll. Also had the black garlic ramen. It was honestly one of the top 20 things I have ever eaten. The pork is tender and packed with flavor that complements the depth of the flavor in the broth.

After recently moving to the area and discovering my love for Chinese/Japanese Ramen I was told to visit the blowfish. Great atmosphere, happy stuff and great food along with a nice selection of Asian beers made a perfect midweek break. I’ll be back in the future for more!!

My wife and I stopped by with a couple of our friends as my wife was craving sushi, and our friends wanted to try sushi for their first time. I would have gone to a tried and true place to introduce our friends to sushi, but decided to take a gamble with a new spot, and are very happy Blowfish did not disappoint.
The space is rather small, seating in total about 30-40 people, and offered a low-key, dark type of ambiance; very "hole in the wall." We skipped appetizers and ordered our entrées, which consisted of the Crunchy Dynamite roll for our friends, Aloha roll for the table, the Beef Brisket Ramen for me, and the Sushi Deluxe for my wife. All of the food was brought out at a decent speed, and we started to dig in. My ramen was spicy and full of flavor and textures, with the brisket itself being a delightful standout. It was tender and was a nice substite to the usual pork belly that I have with ramen. The broth itself was very rich, and while spicy, was not overbearing; it warmed the soul without giving me heartburn. I would easily come back just for this, but thankfully, the sushi is delicious as well!
The Aloha sushi was unique in a great way, with the cucumber providing a snap to it that usually does not come with seaweed sheet/paper. As for the flavor profile, it was fresh and tropical, perfect for a hot summer night. I got the chance to try the Crunchy Dynamite as my friends really enjoyed it, and it tasted fantastic! My wife's spicy roll was good, with her nigiri pieces in particular tasting right-out-of-the-water fresh. The scallop, though normally not a go-to of mine, tasted really good.
This is easily one of our top 3 sushi places in the city, and are glad it served as an introduction to sushi for our friends. Everyone enjoyed all of the food, and made our friends fans of this exquisite cuisine!
