As a date spot, Chez Moi is not bad. The ambience is there for a romantic setting, but I did find that it was a bit too dark inside. I went on a Tuesday evening and it was very quiet with only 3 other tables sat besides me. I had a reservation and was sat quickly. I got the foie gras (not pictured), special of the day which was Chilean sea bass, and the apple tart. The portions were bigger than I thought they would be, and the flavors were well done. The sea bass was tender and had a clean and fresh taste; I just wished that the fish to vegetable ratio was adjusted. For the three dishes I got, I noticed that they seemed overly sauced and so it felt soupy and messy. Service was friendly and attentive.
The lamb shank with couscous was the absolute best meal I've ever had and was the perfect way to end a long weekend in Chicago. Cosme, our server, was also very friendly and attentive. I wish I could eat there every month.

We met relatives for a fine meal with different meals for each of us. We had great appetizers followed by great main courses and deserts which we shared. We of course had a delightful red wine. It couldn't have been better. The service was great!

A favorite neighborhood spot! The onion soup, vegetarian cassoulet, and gateau Breton were incredible. Great brunch option too, especially when the sidewalk seating is available!

We loved this restaurant so much we came back the next night. Far and away the best food we had in Chicago. The shrimp risotto is melt in your mouth good and the salmon was delicious. Even the roasted vegetables were superb. We fell even more in love with the restaurant when our very kind waiter ran two blocks to hand us our leftovers after we left them on the table. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Not super impressed.
Pros: The food was ok
-Drinks were great (But $14-16 which is a little pricey for the ambience and food I think)
-They were very accomodating to our request to push back our reservation
Cons: -Food was not served in any special way and portions were pretty small. My husband had exactly 4 vegetables on the side of his short ribs.
-The dishes they serve the food on feel like diner plates.
-The space felt kind of kitschy and underwhelming
-Service was very slow

My favorite French restaurant in Chicago. The cuisine is outstanding and the staff is accommidating and friendly. Chef Dominique is a true master of the art of culinary excellence, and I have been a huge fan of the restaurant ever since it opened.

Great surprise on Halsted. My friend and I were looking for a dinner spot and walked by this place. We didn't have a reservation (which I would recommend making) but they were able to seat us at the bar quickly. The food was AWESOME. The crab cake was great and then my entree was the stuffed pork tenderloin which went great with the wine that the bartender recommended. I can't wait to go back. The vibe is perfect for a date as well.

Delicious french food in a homey, unpretentious space. Would highly recommend the escargot, gateau Breton (shortbread dessert). Service was incredibly nice - amazing spot for a low-key date night. Will be coming back!

Great place, for great cuisine with great service. We dined for brunch on Halloween celebrating two October birthdays. I ordered the Croque Monsieur with several Bloody Mary’s, the others ordered the Crepes Grand-Mère au Gratin, French Quiche Lorraine and the Eggs Benedict. The room make over looks really good. Nice job. Theo, our server was attentive and accommodating. I want to say “thank you” to the gentleman sitting at the back table with four lovely ladies. Before he left, he told Theo he was buying us a round of drinks. I think the gentleman was Chad, the GM.but he said he didn’t work there! But I, sure it was him. Glad to be returning. Love their mussels, French Onion soup, Beef Bourguignon. I’ve pretty much tried everything on their menu. So you really can’t go wrong.

The meals were great! It was not what I expected for a French cousine for the portions size. It got a great taste but still offer a considerable amount of portion size.

Great atmosphere, decor and location. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. However, the service was slow, and we had to follow up on the bread for the table (during our entree, guess they forgot). Side fries were ridiculously small, I thought for $7, you would at least have a bowl of it! However, the mushrooms ravioli I order was delicious and very well presented. Might give this place another try down the road.
