Decent sushi, byob, and good atmosphere. This place is fun for a date, or with a group of friends. Staff is pretty friendly, and service is fast.
Take out worked well during what appears to be a major renovation. We love the white dragon roll and highly recommend trying it.

This is the best sushi I’ve had. I have never found a sushi place to top their quality. However, they have raised prices and their portions are small for the price. Proceed accordingly.

Cost is/was my favorite place in the city. I have been doing pick up still because I’m too far for delivery, :( but this is the 3rd time I have ordered the coast crab and there’s barely and crab!!! First time I thought it was the end of the night, second time same, but tonight it was early and for $23 for a sushi roll it should be packed with crab. I paid $23 for rice and green onion. Beyond that they have significantly raised prices on other things and decreased the quality / amount of fish. I think sadly this may be my last order. It’s not worth it for $43 for a single person meal.($43 got me two rolls. Coast crab and white dragon. And I picked up so no delivery charge. Crazy for 2 rolls)

I have been a long time customer and completely understand that the pandemic has wrecked havoc on small restaurants. Unfortunately, the restaurant has significantly raised prices during the past month or two where items are almost and actually in some cases doubled. A piece of crab sushi was $4 and now costs $8. Yellowtail with scallions went from $8 to $12.50. Other basic maki rolls cost $10-12. The quality is excellent but the cost of our order tonight was crazy. I wish I would have to think this but it’s definitely the last time ordering from Coast Sushi for us.

I am a vegan, so sushi usually isn't that exciting. But Coast has amazing vegan options. their sweet potato tempura roll, veggie dragon and asparagus avocado roll are amazing. I also love their tofu appetizer, seaweed salad and veggie tempura. Delicious!

Delicious food, but here's what you need to know:
When it comes to sushi rolls, freshness is critical. But it's not the only field that needs to be checked. Portion is also critical.
On a scale of freshness, a clear 5 stars. Someone knows their fish and that highly evident.
Their soup and soft shell crab is also delicious.
I will critique their sushi roll portion sizes. For $15 a roll, one expects to feel full on 2 rolls. The portions were much smaller than expected for the price.
With that said, the portions of my other options were good, and the food was super tasty. This place carries a good reputation and has been around for a long time. It's worth giving a try.

We decided to have a girls night and get some sushi, and heard the reviews about this place, so we came to Coast Sushi Bar. We were not disappointed. Upon walking in, the lighting and the calm ambiance of the restaurant was really pleasing. All of the food we ordered: sushi, nigiri, noodles, were all delicious! We will definitely come back!

I've been to this place many times over the years. I've ordered a lot of different menu items and not one thing has been a disappointment. The specials are always, truly special. My favorite item is the White Dragon. I thought about trying to explain how amazing it is, but words do not suffice. Bring a bottle of wine and a date to Coast and it's hard to imagine it not going well. The staff is always very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly... especially for a sushi novice like me. They will not steer you wrong. It's not cheap, but not unreasonable. The food is so good, price seems irrelevant. Whether you like sushi or not, try Coast. It will not disappoint.

Sushi is good but not as fancy of a place as my husband and I remembered it as. BYOB though! ????????

It’s been one of my favorite Sushi spots for sometime. The quality & taste is always top grade. What makes this location special is the knowledgeable staff. If you’re unsure what to order or what’s on the menu, they have you covered! Love this is BYOB so stop by, about a block down on the corner of Armitage and Damen, at Polonia Food & Liquor for some wine or beer. Great place for a first date with an intimate setting.

My husband and I went here for my first Sushi experience. The service was amazing, the atmosphere is nice and it's BYOB. My husband absolutely loved the sushi I found out that I am more of a thoroughly cooked food person. If you are a sushi person this is definitely a must try!

Sushi tends to be very Sweet with all the sauces. Miso soup was very salty.

High end sushi restaraunt. I don't eat sushi, but the person I was with said it is some of the best in the city. The non sushi selection is limited (maybe 6-7 items), but the duck that I tried was a nice meal.

Awesome sushi. If you are in the area you should check it out. Ask the servers what's on special. They had a few different cuts of salmon when we were there and the one they recommended was excellent.
