Small, quiet, friendly service. The atmosphere is very casual...paper towels, mason jars, silverware in a cup on the counter, BUT it's got great food. Twice recently, I've had the best trout I've been served in a very long time. Shrimp boil, chicken sandwich, popcorn shrimp, soups...all delicious. Other than the calamari, I've loved everything I've tried so far. They have $1.50 oyster happy hour with drink specials, chefs tasting menus and playful dessert. I enjoyed everything
Such a unique, authentic and beautiful place to visit while in Chicago. The food here is absolutely delicious ???? Everything we tried was amazing

Went for lunch, and although I couldn't order anything (because of shrimp allergy ????????) my wife loved it.
Did ordered the Sun Crasher beer and the You're My Boy Blue cocktail (both are good).
If you not in the mood for alcohol, the homemade soda are nice. I ordered the guava flavor and loved it
Service was good.

Fish Bar has a GREAT Lobster Roll! It is delicious with plenty of lobster on a toasted New England roll. Sitting outside on a beautiful summer day just adds to the experience.
Fish Bar also still has actual menus! You can see all your choices on the menu and on the specials are on the blackboard! You do NOT need to own a $1,000 smart phone to eat at this establishment. It is nice to be able to totally unplug for a meal.
Fish Bar gets 5 stars for their food and I wish I could give a sixth star for their good ole fashioned, hold in your hand menu.

Clam chowder is off the charts good .
Lobster roll wasn't all that, I expected a burst of tasteful lobster instead i got nothing but the sauce it comes with ..
Shrimp boil was ok ..
Oysters are $3.50 and are smaller than a thumb but are super fresh and very tasty ..
I will go back for the Clam chowder ..

Overall we liked this spot. Sat in their outside seating. They had just opened the month before so the service was still trying to coalesce, it was a little bumpy. Everyone was very friendly. The food was pretty good. I had the lobster roll, honestly I think I like Hampton Social roll better. This one had more slaw flavor than lobster. The crab cake sandwich was good. The tartare was delicious and the oysters were good. We had the sodas and those were very good.

Watermelon salad was good though a smidge too salty, I'm not sure if they added salt to the dressing but with the high salt content of Feta I don't think it required more. The Salmon was amazing, I haven't had a delicate buttery pan seared salmon in quite some time. The oysters were merely okay, too expensive for the size, I feel like the ketchup and vinaigrette that comes with are unnecessary. The drink, Lavender margarita, was lacking the expected boozy kick and definitely watered down during the outdoor heat. Would recommend but as a date outing or work outing as after tax and tip it was almost $60 for one person.

I got the fish sandwich which was really good, but the side order of frozen tater tots was comically small. I'm talking like 6 tots. For the price this just doesn't make sense. Beer prices are also $1-$2 more than any other place on the block.

The oysters were served nicely chilled, very refreshing, but a bit salty. Followed by a beautifully cooked salmon and nice crunchy finger potatoes with creamy sauce.. it was delicious. Unfortunately in a very small portion, and slow service. We left hungry... First time here, and would most likely be our last.

This was such a unique find in this quiet Chicago neighborhood. Amazing place and love the decor. The food was so unique and amazing. Best chowder and gumbo. The lobster roll and the burger were so well done and tasted fantastic. Loved the vibe here and the service. Very well maintained place and clean. The service time wasn't long and this wasn't crowed when I went there. There is bar style seating as well as booths. The hearing is on point, warm and nice. Extra points for the canoe decor hanging from the roof and the hanging pendant lights. Give it a try, you won't regret.
