I know working in restaurants is hard , but the food just wasn’t up to par. My chicken tacos ???? didn’t taste like chicken, more like pork. Meat was barely warm and tortillas were a little tough. Couldn’t eat there because tables were not cleaned. But the price wasn’t too bad for the area and workers were nice.
Picked this up myself as was staying nearby.
Had the chicken street corn burrito and the Mexican fries. Burrito was dry and pretty bland , had bits of other (also dry) meat in it and a token hair .
Mexican fries were the opposite of crispy and again pretty bland .

There are many Mexican and Taco joints in Chicago land, most of the chains are just mediocre, some are too fancy. If you want Mexican food the way it is meant to be tasted this is the place to be. Nothing fancy, it is just simple fresh ingredients with perfect flavors. The key to good Mexican cooking is the balance of the flavors and texture, too much of one thing will ruin the dish. This place does it perfectly. My go to has always been the barbacoa, you can definitely tell the time that was put into it. My second favorite is the quesadilla, it is not the normal flat slap of tortilla with a bit of cheese and meat, the quesadilla here is almost like pizza slice and they don't hold back on the cheese nor the meat. Everything are at very reasonable prices.
It is a small place, cozy and there are good drinks and frozen margaritas, make sure you try the Horchata as well when you stop by.

I will 100% recommend this place. I’m Mexican and can tell you that the taste of their tacos was the most authentic I have tried so far in the States. Their margaritas are just perfect! I’ll come back next time I’m in Chicago ????

No frills taco joint but really, really good. They have a good variety of tacos & their Bowls are nice too. Their frozen margaritas are delicious! They always accommodate my subs due to allergies which is so appreciated. Yummy, casual stop!

This place has a very chill vibe, is very affordable and conveniently located, but I've had better tacos at many other places. The street corn chicken taco and street corn chicken burrito was good, but the fish in my other tacos was not well seasoned, and our rice and beans were overcooked and barely edible. The frozen sangrita was the most enjoyable part of my meal and I'd definitely go back just for that!

I ordered the carne asada fries but with Al pastor and it was delicious! The guacamole and veggies were fresh and flavorful, fries were weee crispy, cheese was melty, and the Al pastor was good 1” chunks that were well seasoned but not not overly so. The beautiful presentation was done but the young lady serving, I didn’t catch her name but I did pay her the compliment before I left. The agua Jamaica was delicious and lightly sweet. The young man that took my order was helpful and friendly. Great experience! Go through the first set of doors at the top of the stairs and make a right. You can’t go wrong with Flaco’s!

The specialty tacos hit the spot and are later with flavor. The staff were great and easy to work with. Will for sure come back again.

Nice option for tacos, burritos, tamales and quesadillas. They have a lot of beverages too.
Specially you’ll get beers and Margaritas and homemade Sangria too.
We ordered Al Pastor Tacos and Ancho Chicken tacos served with Salsa. Also ordered some beers. Food was good but the service was slow. Almost waited for 20 mins to get couple of tacos.
