We’ve been going to foundation for quite a long time now and everytime we go it’s a great experience. The live music is always amazing and the customer service at the bar is fantastic. Everyone is so attentive and friendly. Robbie is the best! The thursday burger special is my favorite! They’re so good! Overall Foundation is a lovely neighborhood gem. Go for a drink and some local tunes!

This is such a nice place to eat and drink. Jay the server is amazing! Never had service like what he provides. His attention to detail and friendliness is far above all others. I will definitely be back and will tell all my friends.

I held an event at Foundation Tavern and Grille in early August, I had a great experience and highly recommend them. We were allowed to use one side of the restaurant exclusively for our guests, and I was able to use their A/V system to share a slideshow. The food was fantastic, we had an assortment of flatbreads, vesuvio chicken, tenderloin sliders, potatoes, Tavern fries and salad. Working with Gil on the planning details was effortless. The waitstaff, especially Jay, made our experience really special. We felt welcomed and never rushed, the atmosphere was perfect. I'm grateful to the people at Foundation for helping to make my event memorable.

Went to see Pistol Pete perform at this unassuming, down-to-earth bar/restaurant. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Food was great - large portions and arrived promptly. Drinks are reasonably priced. A great night out!

Food and drinks were GREAT. Had a little dinner getaway time with my husband (without the kids). I love the bricks and vintage feel of the space along with a stage. We enjoyed liver performances that didn't overtake the small space but rather created more ambience. The waiter was lively and truthful about the menu gave good suggestions on food but didn't know about IPAs. All and all good times.

Came here to have a gathering in the semi-private room for my in-laws birthday. Jay, our server, was awesome! Gil, who helped us with reservations, was welcoming and accommodating. We will certainly come back again for happy hour or just to hang out. Thank for the great service. You gained a new set of customers.

I've been going here for a while now, and it's my favorite spot in Portage Park! Beautiful bar, great deals, kind service, perfect drinks, and food so good it should have a Michelin Star! Seriously, try the flatbread. I can't say enough positive things about Foundation!

What a hidden gem! Stopped in for a quick bite and ended up staying a couple hours. They had a Happy Hour special on Saturday which is almost unheard of. The food was great, I got the burger and brussel sprouts. Diverse draft beer selection. Tv's everywhere, this place has a lil something for everyone!

Sliders were bomb! Krombacher beer was smooth and yummy. They also had live music with a very nice stage. Think acoustic vibes.
Our serves was amazing and made us feel extremely welcomed, shout out to her ! Ordered 2 Manhattans and although I prefer them served on a Martini glass vs a whisky glass, it was smooth.
