We came and asked around on the best Chicago deep dish and got a couple different answers. Gino's was incredible. With a 45 minute wait to get in it was worth it. Saucer was tasty not too spicy or acidic. Crust buttery and toppings will cooked
One of the famous spots. We went and ate at a great time, in between lunch and dinner. Our server made great suggestions and we took them. The pizza was delicious. Still trying to figure out the crust ingredients. Looking into getting some shipped to me even though I know it won't be the same.

This is EXACTLY how Chicago Deep Dish is supposed to be! It's hot enough where the cheese is melted, the toppings are flavorful, and the crust is crispy, buttery and delicious. Yes! Yes! YES!!!! Oh, and the service here is so friendly. It takes 45 minutes to bake a deep dish. Our waitress came around many times before and during our meal to check up on us. Simply AMAZING! Parking is Valet or Garage right across the street.

Visiting Chicago always suggests you need to try the deep dish pizza. Gino’s east was an awesome atmosphere and friendly staff. They were transparent with ordering and timing and were on the mark with that. The group I was with enjoyed their time and the novelty of having a deep dish is satisfied. Certainly filling for 2 with a medium pizza plus appetizer.

It was one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. I can not forget. I miss Chicago pizza. It was full of cheese and plenty of meat inside. The pizza dough is thick and chewy. The buffalo wings were also spicy and very tasty.
Thank you for the meal.

Even the alley rats wouldn't eat it.
We used to love Gino's East but they've gone downhill dramatically. Today I ordered our usual deep dish with pesto. Got home to find some gross excuse of a pizza. No sauce, no pesto just a weird Alfredo like cheese sauce. Called Gino's and asked for a refund, they refused and said I had to bring the pizza back to get a different one. I told them I wasn't going to drive half an hour back just to wait another hour for my food. They said that's my problem. I've called my credit card to decline the charge.
If you want good deep dish go to Pequod's or anywhere but here.
In response to the "Owner":
It's sad that you have to resort to lying. We have ordered pesto as a topping multiple times over the years. It is even logged in your system as my previous order! I never claimed you served Alfredo sauce, re-read my review, I said "weird Alfredo like".
As I said, we used to love Gino's East but you're running that place into the ground. It's nothing but a tourist trap serving gross pizza now.

Gino‘s East was recommended to me as the best Deep Dish Pizza place in Chicago. And I agree! It takes about 45 minutes to make the pizza, but waiting is absolutely worth it!
Super nice staff and very authentic American DDP restaurant. If you’re in Chicago, make you’re way up there. You’ll be glad you did!

For deep dish pizza, this is definitely one of my favorites. And not a big fan of Chicago style pizza. But when I do eat here I like to try new pizza restaurants out and this is my first time here. With all the writing on the walls. It seems a little bit dirty or grungy but I imagine that's the effect they're going for. A little bit out of my style but I can respect it. I definitely give it a try if you're in town and they're looking for an original deep dish style pizza.

A landmark in Chicago. Gino's is definitely worth the visit. You got deep dish style and or think crust options. Pizza's are all made to order. Just keep in mind, Deep dish style takes about 40-45 minutes. Be ready to be seated, relax and wait... its not a 20 minute in and out place.

I came here for a date night with my boyfriend and it was awesome. Super dope decor, love the graffiti everywhere. I heard of this place when I was a kid and always wanted to check it out. I’m so glad we came, we signed our names and tried a pizza and the spinach mozzarella sticks. Food was bomb, definitely coming back with my kids!!!! It’s a really dope spot to check out if you’re a local or from out of town. They’re actually open later which is a big plus !!!!

We decided to try this pizza restaurant in Chicago after watching the TV series man versus food. This was the first time I’ve ever experienced £80 Chicago pizza, and Boy did it not disappoint! The food was delicious and there was plenty of it even when we ordered a small pizza! The venue was great very hipster and offers the opportunity for you to write your name on the walls which adds to the deco and hipster feel of the venue. Will certainly be back even if it means travelling from the UK to try one of their pizzas again!

First time trying Gino's! The experience was good overall. We tried the Mozzarella Spinach Sticks and Gino's Supreme Deep Dish Pizza and they both tasted good! Rather pricey comparing with similar restaurants that provide equal or better quality food and portions. I personally found the atmosphere a little unappetizing with all the "sign the wall" art (the wall was so full people started signing on the seats and tables which is getting messy, plus people were leaving "writings" and "art" instead of signing).

Good local spot that is also tourist friendly. The service was great. I even witnessed the server grinning and bearing it through some very problematic customers. The food was tasty. If you have never had Chicago style pizza before, prepare yourself for a cheese overload. Way too much cheese. And it's quality, stretchy, rich, tasty cheese. But it is so much that it overwhelms everything. The crust is unique and good. Maybe cornmeal? The star is the sauce. Chucky and spicy. I wish they put more of that and less cheese. Will try again!

Honestly everything was exactly what we wanted. We wanted to try some Chicago deep dish pizza and there are SO many options that we didn't know what we were getting into when we chose this place. But it was amazing. They had some great topping choices (I had mine with spicy pepperoni and white truffle oil) let you customize and mix and match pretty much however you'd like and it came out fresh and hot and amazing straight to our table. The aesthetics of this place are fun and edgy and they offer a marker for you to write on the walls once you're done. Def enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service and would go here again!

Hands down the BEST Chicago deep dish pizza I have ever had!! The atmosphere was so awesome! Everyone had signed their name all over the inside of the restaurant. Oh & the appetizers!! You have to try the Cheese Sticks, Spinach Sticks & Breadsticks! I've never had Spinach Sticks before but WOW! They will change your life! ♡ We can't wait to return!!

Where do I start? The music was great, you are able to write your name ANYWHERE in the restaurant (to leave your mark in Chicago), the food was AMAZING, and our waitress was so sweet! It was already 830 when we got there, and for a deep dish it takes 45 minutes to an hour to make (which she did let us know when we ordered it). It was totally worth the wait! And honestly we were able to just to talk to the waitress about living in Chicago which was awesome!

Great Chicago style deep dish pizza. Worth the visit. Cool atmosphere, friendly staff. Tasty pizza. Be prepared to wait once u order, takes about 40min to cook the deep dish.

Great place to get an authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza! It is recommended that you order a deep dish prior to arriving as it could take over 40 minutes for the deep dish to cook properly. We ordered mozzarella sticks with buffalo sauce and I recommend it! Chicago is not a place I travel to often, but this was my second visit in five years and it is exactly how I remember! The sauce to cheese ratio is perfect, and they are very generous with the toppings! If I come to Chicago a third time, this will make my list again for sure.

If you want to experience true Chicago deep dish pizza, this is your place! We got a large pepperoni deep dish pizza and it was fantastic. Keep in mind that if you are coming for a deep dish pizza that you will have to wait about 40 or longer. We also had sticks and dips appetizer! Holy cow was it good! I don’t think there was. a crumb left on the platter. It had mozzarella sticks, mozzarella and spinach sticks (which I had never had before but I am hooked! It tasted like spinach and artichoke dip minus the artichokes…) and breadsticks. You also got to choose three dips. We chose marinara, ranch and garlic butter. Our server, Jason, was attentive and great with our kids! It was a great experience!
