Food is decent but not great. Happy hour was very nice. You can do better elsewhere. Pics are of chewy, grisly steak, average and dry wings and a $13 old fashioned. Presentation was ok but flavors and quality don't match. Also their attitude at the end of the night ruined my 4th experience there. After 1 beer and a chewy steak they said they were closed with a 1/2 full restaurant. No last call just attitude!!

I ordered a Caesar salad with steak. First off there was no dressing on the side of even on it, as you can tell the lettuce was soggy like watery for some reason. Steak was just thrown on barely even cut just looked weird and tasted wierd. I mean the picture speaks for itself lol I’ve got this salad plenty of times it’s never been like this.

On a chance went to check it out. I saw the happy hour menu and thought, why not! I ordered a burger and beer... And all I can say is wow. The beer was nice and cold and burger was probably one of the best I have had in a long time. Nothing fancy but everything executed to perfection. Potato bun, two patties, American cheese, and great pickles with ketchup and mustard... And having it outside while the world passes by made my evening.
Highly recommend if you are looking for a great happy hour, nice hosts, friendly servers and tasty food.

Food is not the greatest, but the view of the park while seated outside is nice. If you’re staying at the Hotel Essex and need a quick bite, it will suffice, but it’s not the best place in the area.

We stayed at the Hilton and walked across to this spot, they were short staff when we tried to come with a group for lunch, so ending up coming back with just the wife for breakfast the next day. The food was good and coffee was hot, they only have regular coffe. The french toast was excellent along with granola, the oatmeal with the dark chocolate was okay, the wife like it better then i did it was just kinda bland to me with a light chocolate note. Would return if we stayes at the hilton again.

From the moment we arrived none of the front staff looked friendly and it took a while to be greeted. We asked to sit inside as we knew it was going to rain. The hostess said that the only table available was a small high table right behind the greeting station. Interesting since there were many other tables available in a different section of the restaurant. We said we would wait for another table which she said should take 10 minutes. A little while later we were called and escorted to a table OUTSIDE. I told her I had asked for a table inside, so guess what? We got the small high table with really uncomfortable stools.

Moving on. We were ready to order. Our son wanted the steak frites. They didn't have any left.
So he ordered the chicken. The bar server didn't know if they had any left. I asked her to please check because if they didn't have any we would need to go somewhere else. We also ordered a bottle of Californian Sauvignon Blanc wine. The server returned and I immediately thought she was going to say they didn't have the chicken. No, they had the chicken but not the wine. I asked what bottle of white they had. Her answer - none. I asked about getting a glass of white. She said that the only white they had was a house white. So I asked what the house white was. Apparently the house white was the restaurant's house white (aka homemade).
I really don't understand how a restaurant can sell out of ALL their white wine. This makes no sense to me.

The initial server never checked on us again. Another server came only after we were finished our meal to see if everything was OK. Clearly service is not of high importance to them.
Plus our son had food poisoning symptoms shortly after eating his chicken.

I really wanted to like this restaurant. But sadly it was disappointing and I do not recommend dining here.

Heard very good things about place so decided to try but thats actually not the case.
Got the tabke outside fairly quick which was good.
Ordered fried chicken sandwich, pesto fettuccine both were decent, but steak frites and pork chops were equally bad and had to send back twice to get it cooked correctly plus it took then forever to cook.
They gave us a discount, but still.
May be there was a lot of distraction going on aroujd that day, i dont know.
May be will visit again but not sure.
Drinks were good.

Nice bistro. Cold draft craft beer and creamy, flavorful soup. Perfect on this cold day. If my review was helpful or you agreed with my assessment, please consider giving my review a "like".

I was wandering downtown and stopped in here for lunch. The menu is a little on the pricey side for what they offer but I got the regular burger and it was really good. The atmosphere is nice and they have a great outdoor seating area as well.

It was busy when I arrived but a table open up quickly. Service was excellent despite it being busy. Nice place to grab a bite before a show in the South Loop area. Good variety on the menu and good drink menu. The outdoor seating looks nice!

This restaurant is connected to the Le Meridien Essex hotel. The hotel gave us some vouchers for it so we decided to eat here. Surprisingly busy at 8am on Sunday. Food was as you'd expect. Prices on par for the area but not a great value overall.

We loved this restaurant! First, we went for happy hour. They had some really great deals on drinks and food. We got the happy hour macaroni and cheese and were surprised at the size and quality of the dish. Big enough for a smaller meal.

The next morning we returned for breakfast. Although the wait was a bit long because of how busy it was, we were once again impressed with the quality of the food.

While this isn’t the largest restaurant, and there can be a little wait, it’s clean and serves some fantastic dishes. I’d stop here again!
