Soooooo good! I moved a few months ago from Logan Square but returned tonight to feast on my favorites: Hamachi jalapeño and Hermosa roll. I don't like a lot of sauce....just good flavors. Both are unique. Hamachi jalapeño is not super hot. The fish is incredibly fresh and I love the tiny green onions and green herb leaves. Hermosa is deliciously citrus and yummy. Most sushi restaurants throw on the ingredients but Haru sushi is all about fresh fish and flavor balance ???? ????
We've gotten carryout from here a number of times and it's been fantastic. But we dined in tonight and wow. Everything was spectacular.
Their hamachi jalapeno is delicate and wonderful, with just enough ponzu to punch it up. Their makimono are inspired. Their nigiri is amazingly fresh and flavorful.
And their wasabi. I'm going to be dreaming of their fresh wasabi.
(Side note: I asked if they ever make takowasa and their chef tossed together some of their delicious octopus salad and fresh wasabi for me to try out. It wasn't the same as the takowasa you'd find in an izakaya in Tokyo, but it's definitely something I'll be ordering regularly.)

Sushi is fresh and almost melts in your mouth. The best sushi I have had since I traveled to Japan.

Highly recommend this spot, staff is very professional and friendly. More importantly, the sushi is delicious and the quality of the fish is outstanding. Definitely my go-to spot for sushi now.

This has become my family's go to sushi place in the neighborhood. We've ordered take out several times and the fish is always fresh and delicious. I am very sensitive to gluten and have never had a problem with their food. Staff is knowledgeable about allergens. Glad to have them in the neighborhood!

Clean place. Very friendly staff. Food is ok, nothing exceptional! But everything is fresh and clean.
An update :
The reason I am decreasing my rating is that we had a food poisoning : upset stomach, cramps, bloating, rash, vomiting and pain. Very disappointed, do not recommend!

It was okay. Nothing surprised or impressed me. I prefer to order simple rolls, and without the mayo and crazy ingredients, well, the fundamentals of sushi were missing. I didn’t think the fish was that flavorful and the rice was off. It was fast for take out and they were friendly.

Fantastic place for dinner! Menu was simple and basic for sushi, yet was made very well with high quality fresh fish and fresh flavorful ingredients. Amazing hospitality with lightning fast service. Service was so quick that my food was waiting for me on a 10 minute walk to and from my apartment to grab a bottle for BYOB. Beautiful backstory including the owner/chef and his daughter as well, highly recommend reading into that as well. Easily my new go to spot for sushi!

This place is great. Works really well for casual dinners with a group: plenty of space inside to put tables together. The sweet potato tempura maki is the best vegetarian sushi I've ever had. The salmon avocado salad is a wonderful lunch. My list of favorites is long, hard to go wrong.

Fresh, filling, family-run, and friendly! Very excited to have such a quality sushi restaurant in the neighborhood. Definitely worth checking out or taking out. Would recommend the Crazy Roll, ahi tuna appetizer, and their tuna/salmon + avocado maki (best bang for buck).

Tasty new sushi spot with a fun backstory! Great presentation, tasty flavors. The Hawaii ahi poke appetizer was delicious and a nice kick. Crazy roll also delicious. And BYOB to top it off. Will come back.

I was super impressed by this neighborhood sushi restaurant. Their menu is small and fairly basic, the prices are low (for sushi), but it was really awesome. Id rather a simple menu that uses high quality fish than a place that does “everything” or has “extravagant rolls”. Logan square is a dead zone for sushi, and I’m psyched this place opened up! Thanks guys!

Amazing sushi! Everything was SO fresh. We had the Logan and Crazy rolls. Absolutely delicious. And our server, who is famous BTW :) did a fantastic job. We will definitely make this our regular spot for sushi. Highly recommend!!

Was very excited when I saw this place was opening down the street and was not disappointed! My parents were visiting and we decided to order from Haru, we ordered about 7 rolls, sashimi and soup, all of which were amazing! The portions are great and the quality of fish showed with the sashimi we ordered. The chef and servers were all very kind and welcoming, definitely a very homey vibe, highly recommend.
