Two stars instead of one because at least I appreciate the honesty on their refusal to accommodate allergies. If anyone manages food allergies I hope you read this and understand Honky Tonk is not the place to go.
I can’t do the side dishes that come with the ribs. The woman I spoke to said they don’t do substitutions and wouldn’t offer another option. I just had to choose to not eat the side dishes that I’d be paying for.
When I asked if they could do any accommodations for me the woman flat out said no we can’t accommodate you. That was the end for me. A more reasonable restaurant would at least allow substitutions or point me to something else on the menu that would be more suitable.
Frustrated with the conversation but I’m glad I didn’t order anything knowing they’re not allergy friendly.
Edit -
I'm updating my review to one star now that I've received a response from the owner.
Food allergies are a serious issue, a medical issue, that clearly from my experience yesterday and the owner's response Honky Tonk does not care to take into consideration. The owner is attempting to invalidate my review with his claim that this issue is about a salad.
My phone conversation with the woman on staff lasted about two minutes. She said the coleslaw is both vinegar and mayonnaise based. The conversation ended with "we cannot accommodate you". That made it clear to me that Honky Tonk is not allergy friendly and I could not safely eat there so we didn't discuss the rest of the menu. Now with the owner's response I know that they are aggressively against trying to work with someone with food allergies.
I had no idea that when I asked "Is your coleslaw vinegar or mayonnaise based?" it would spiral into this.
PS - The woman said the coleslaw has vinegar and mayo. The owner says just vinegar. Another indication that you all don't know the ingredients in your menu to keep people safe.
Ordered a full slab and slaw for carry out.
Ribs not much meat and dry.Side sauces on the vinegar side, too savory for my taste.Slaw again to vinegar heavy.
Decor interesting speakeasy style.Service good.Pricing average.Parking metered on street difficult.
AWARDED 1 YUM ON A SCALE OF 3.

Zero stars. By far and away the absolute worst BBQ I've ever had. This place should be fined for putting out such garbage. Don't come here, pour some ketchup on an old dishrag and it will taste better than their baby back ribs. Chew on an old flip flop to match their brisket. So bad it's infuriating. Do not come here.

I took the sampler platter. Food is dry not juicy. The only stunning one is muffin. In general, not recommend.

My brisket was horrible. There is absolutely no way this brisket was slow cooked for 15hrs. I also had my food delivered to my hotel, no napkins or utensils. First & last time ordering. Very dissatisfied.

The food was very sub par for a BBQ place, really small servings for the price. The “platter” was in fact a small plate. Service was also okay, server didn’t know anything about the food, seemed like they were new to the team, so I understand. The two stars are for the waiter’s good effort.

The BBQ is overall not great. I personally found the ribs to be dry and the mac n cheese was very bland. However, the hot link was tasty. I don't regret trying it out, but I likely won't return. Perhaps other items on the menu that I didn't try may be better

Unfortunately we did not have a good expierience there.
Its way too cold inside, my Mac and Cheese were icecold after 5min, like coming out of the fridge.
They had live music, that was the best thing.
Our drinks came minutes after the food arrived, in the mean time we had nothing to drink, a big no go.
The smoked babyback ribs did not really tasted like smoked , i just tasted the intense rub.
Nice place, too cold, good music, improvable service and food

I had never been here. A quick Google search said they were the closest restaurant to me that had rib tips. My usual spot was not open. I did a pick up order here on 5/1/22. Ordering process was pretty easy over the phone. Arrived about 20 min later and my order wasn't ready. We were told they were a little backed up. That was no problem. They called when the order was ready which was awesome!
I ordered 2 orders of rib tips. 1 was for someone else. I still haven't gotten their opinion. However, my kids and I enjoyed our order. The rib tips are cut pretty big and they come unsauced. The sauce comes on the side. They were seasoned really well and were tender. You don't get a lot. What you see in the pics are all you get. 1 order can feed 1 adult. I'd suggest getting multiple orders for multiple people or someone won't be full. The price was pretty standard. $13 per order of tips. I'd go back for the tips and to try their other items.

Omg the BBQ sauces are amazing with all the meats. I got the sampler platter with the ribs, chicken, sausages, brisket sandwich, Cole slaw, beans, and corn muffin and everything was absolutely amazing! ???? I really loved the sausages and I'm not big on sausage. Definitely order Honky Tonk BBQ when u want some A1 day1 BBQ!

Loved the food and the atmosphere. Our server Laura was very good and responsive. The food was great and the quantity was good. Loved the strip of bacon with the drink as well. We had the platter between 2 of us and it was a lot of good food. Will be returning soon. ????

Good food. I had peach cobbler for dessert that didn't taste like peach cobbler. Candied yams were SUPERB! Pulled pork on garlic bread was AWESOME! Waiters were AWESOME!

I fall in love with this place, the food, the music, the atmosphere, something very unique and beautiful. Brisket, sweet yam, the corn bread, so rich and tasty. The host Vivian treated me very well. Highly recommend with no doubt at all ..,

Food was pretty good. My brisket was sliced and kind of dry and my son's brisket was a little thicker and a lot better (tastey, juicyer, more tender, a little more fat but delicious). Corn muffin was tasty, hot link was good and had a little kick to it. Ribs were dry and tough to eat.

Peach cobbler was just two bites for $7. The bottom was burnt, I had to scrap the bottom off. Coleslaw had way too much vinegar, absolutely inedible. Would’ve preferred a better cleaned chicken. Corn bread is very dry.
